      Did you expect something different?

      • The res was incorrectly stated. He was correcting the OP.

for non gaming use a 4k monitor will be better imho

    • +1

Well, not all laptops can handle 4K screens. 2560x1600 in fact is max resolution for macbook pros up to 2011 models.
Also this monitor is IPS monitor and 4K monitors are not. Which is deal breaker too.

    • Yeah, I don't know about that, I have a crossover 30Q5 (ie, the same res and size as the Dell) and 20:20 vision and I'm extremely unsure about these 28 inch 4k monitors coming out and what will happen with anything that does not have decent UI scaling.

Not to mention the fact that the 4k monitors you're talking about are currently much inferior panels.

I don't agree with people downvoting you to oblivion - better that your opinion and the counter arguments remain visible.

    • Eh.. at this price most are smaller, TN panels (blech) or 30hz at full resolution. I mean I'd like one, but too many compromises unless you pay a lot.

  • *updated: 2560 x 1600

Doesn't look like the dream monitor to me any more, not when the LG 34UM95 is only $80 more. It's amazing and ready to go, unlike most current 4K monitors. Assuming you can stomach the 21:9 Ultra wide ratio.

Good monitors but should probably be under $1000 now.

    • Agree. I would snap it in no time for $800.

I already bought one of these and had Rev.3 version which is the latest revised models and still had backlight bleeding. This is one of the issues they have and that's why I have returned it.

If you want a proper monitor get the LG 34UM95

    • Yep at this price range even though I dislike LG I would go for the LG 34UM95

      21:9 is no proper monitor.

  • It is a nice monitor.

    I have a 3011 and 3014 next to each other - the 3014 is far superior…

  • Normally i would recommend deals on the Dell 30"s but after I returned 4 U3014 rev2 monitors due to the dead pixel, unable to wake up from sleep mode, scanline and backlight bleed issues, I would say look at other options before you buy. There are now other affordable >30" options available
