You'd have to pick your dates carefully to get ski-able snow at Mt Selwyn. I mean, it's a good beginners resort, and mid season it would be alright as it does get snow, but usually is last to open and first to close. Lots of times i hear on the radio snow report "No lifts currently operating at Selywyn, but come on up for snow play"
If you're a beginner, thus no equipment, the 2 day Ultimate package with lesson and ski hire included for $212 might be better.
sure i'd rather ski perisher. but now ive got 4 kids. like (2day) deal at bluecow adult $229, child $169, (altho thats30 lifts, and you can book 7days out). for us it's $300+/day cheaper with the selwyn deal. as they’ve only ski'd a few times our kids are just as happy.
must be open enough to be viable business. yes elevation lower than other nsw resorts & so does tend to have shorter season.
also nice to bat for the underdog, if you dont lose too much skin.
if there is no snow mid july…
I recommend Selwyn for those learning to ski because it has easy runs.
Not sure this is too much of a bargain though, I think you always get a free lesson there with 2+ days of lift pass purchased?
