    2 x 1000 lumen flashlights = 2000 lumens?

I think they do the same with rechargeable batteries, 4 x AAA's supposedly rated at 1000mah, but lucky to actually get 250mah out of each of them for a total of 1000mah.

I had one of these; DOA. Really cheap sh*t.

    • Was it a seller issue or product? Did you get support for DOA issue?

      • Product. It was fully intact and visibly brand-new but it just would not work. I actually just ignored it entirely; don't have time to chase these guys up like I'm Rosa Parks on a crusade or something, just to get my 5 bucks back.

These Chicoms and their sub-5 dollar, plastic fantastic bargains are a gamble, I know that going in and I expect some of this stuff to just turn up on my door step dead and broken. Or not turn up at all. Most of it hasn't, but some of it has.

Those are rules of the game in this brave, new consumerist world.

What are you going to do? These Chinese sellers hide behind a moden-day Iron Curtain, trying to find information about them is like looking into a black hole (nothing visible escapes). They operate out of scammer's paradises, where finding the street address of a business is a Herculean task.

Take one down; they create a new fake online portal and identity, reemerge in 72 hours and spread, like weeds in a garden.

        • thought mine was doa too but it had a extended tube/ring thing between the body and the lens. took that off and it worked. the tube creates too much space for the contacts to touch

  • These are pretty shit.

    • How so? The build quality isn't crash hot, but the light is good.

WARNING - just looked at the ad and can guarentee these are not XM-L emitters.
Aside from being too cheap, and no pictures of it, there is no Q5 bin code for an XM-L. If you are lucky it is a 100-lumen XR-E.

A real XM-L can in theory do 1000 lumens, but not from AAAs :)

    • Agreed, 1000 lumens out of 1W? I would say no, might be 300 or 400 lumens both together not 2000 :) but will vote for poster effort, still a good deal for $4 if someone need a torch

      • Sure. As it long it A) arrives and B) works.
