    • That depends on the method of transportation you chose. Let me use this screenshot again: http://i.imgur.com/kQeXflH.png
It is example of sending package with value $200 to Australia, Brisbane.
Most carriers have insurance included in the shipping costs (TNT, DHL, FedEx).
With some of them, you have to pay extra for insurance (Airmail, USPS)

  • I've had over 200 items posted directly to me from all over the world but the first (and only) time I used shipito my package went missing.

Insurance was paid out so I only lost a small amount.

I used 'priority airmail' as it was the only service available that was less than the value of the item I was shipping, this was my mistake.

The insurance process was very 'American' - the attitude was 'we're doing you a favour', even though you paid for insurance, so don't bug us about it and you'll get paid whenever we get paid, which I felt was odd because I didn't pay the underwriter - I paid shipito…

So, insure and/or use a decent forwarder.

    • I've use Shipito dozens of times (my parcel code was into the 'D's). Never once lost a parcel. Almost all of them economy airmail.

Been a with them since 2009.
Used to use it a lot but not much nowdays. Lack of funds.

They have improved so much since they started.

    Ive done:

    Processed Packages: 351
    Sent Packages: 180
    Consolidation Savings: $11748.35
    Postage Savings: $35134.45
    Total Savings: $46882.8

    • You have used them a lot! How is your postage savings so high?

      Processed Packages: 153
      Sent Packages: 29
      Consolidation Savings: $5608.25
      Postage Savings: $776.59
      Total Savings: $6384.84

I don't use them much these days because lots more places ship to Aus, and I've been able to get a lot of things from Amazon (which usually have very reasonable shipping costs).

      • I'm not sure to be honest. Used them a lot in 2009-2012.

      • A while ago the Fedex savings were substantial (at least on paper).

Is this offer only available for a limited time?

    1. To sign up
    2. To ship first package
    • +1

the time limitation is to sign up

  • I was just trying to sign up, but mistakenly clicked on the back button… now I can't pay anymore and the system wants me to place a new order. What do I do now?

    • +1

try to do the registration process from the beginning with the link from OzBargain

How much would it cost to send an amazon paperwhite kindle from your Oregon warehouse to Melbourne Australia (3172) ?

    Cheapest shipping etc

    Thanks from potential new user

    • With our Airmail Economy shipping, you can send 2 lb for $16.45. The Paperwhite weights 0.45 lb, so that should fit under 2 lb with packaging and charger

  • can i sign up for Individual Packages and just receive mails from that?

edit: basically they're the same as the virtual address?

    • you can receive mails on Individual Packages plan, but you can have only 1 mail in your account at once. If you wish to keep more than 1 letters in your account, you have to go with virtual mailbox

  • do you offer surface mail (ie. by sea)? (mainly for larger/heavier parcels/items?)

    • right now we are not offering this kind of service, since there is not much demand from our customers for it.

  • you can get your chromecast now using this service

I would really never use Shipto again. really bad business practice there.

    • what happened?

    • Care to elaborate? Or are you just posting that a couple of times so you can neg the deal?

Lots of other's seem quite happy and have shared their experiences. You don't seem happy, yet wont share.

      • -1

if you lost your item on the post, you will find great difficulty to communicate with them. Also the postal calculation tool never correct ! All I can say is that Shipto has bad business practice and can't be trusted!! Just buy from Amazon .They are much better and reasonable shipping cost than Shipto.

        • I'm finding it hard understanding what you're saying. So I can see why there might be communiction issues. Buy from amazon… do you know what shipito is?

        • I was taking him seriously until he mention buy from amazon…

    • +1

Thank you for such a detailed explanation. really bad posting practices there.

  • I love Shipito!! I do a shop every few months. It's not 'cheap', but super worth it for me, buying things from the US Gap, amazon that won't ship internationally, anthro etc. Consolidating a big box is great. Fast and efficient.

    • +1

nice one shipito's sister, who in au says 'super' any more?

      • +1

        erm… me?

  • +1

Hi Shipito - After reading a few positive reviews from here, I literally only signed up to your service only 4 days ago and would have waited if I knew about this OzBargain deal! As stated above, it would be excellent if you could provide existing customers with this discount :) Thanks!

  • Hi Shipito,

I have just recently signed up prior to this offer!!
I have not bought anything yet though , and am waiting for validation of my account.

Is it still possible to get this deal?

  • Signed up and used the service to buy a Kindle Fire TV

  • -3

Just buy from Amazon. they are much cheaper cost than Shipto!!!!

    • The main reason for using a forwarder like shipito is to get items that US merchants won't ship. Amazon US don't ship most items to Australia.

  • +3

I have used shipito in the past,SHIT experience,BE AWARE everyone

Last year,I bought some goods from separate us online shops, all posted to shipito address, asked shipito to consolidate packages into one, hoping to save money ,
end up cost much much more.and almost lost my goods

First, worst consolidation end up one huge bulky package cost even more than separate packages, yet online estimate still says you have "saved" halve the shipping cost
Second, hiding cost, like handling cost etc ,which is not much, still should be clearly outlined for customs

    The WORST,
they do not state what they do not ship, truth is,if Amazon not selling to Australians for some reasons, then shipito may not ship it to Australia.and you will find it out in a hard way,if you can not return the package back to seller which is at your cost, you have to give up you goods to shipito. it seems happened a lot if you google it
In my case,I asked Shpito why my goods can not be shipped to Australia and where it says what I can not shipped on their website,,shipito's answer is that they " do not have responsibility to explain their shipping policy". ??!!!
So I spent another hundred bucks to get my goods ship back to seller store and pay the seller to ship it to Australia.(so the goods CAN be shipped to Australia ,it is just shipito policy)

    • Curious to know what goods these were?

    • -1

Of course they say what every freight company won't ship. It's right here: http://calculator.shipito.com/en/prohibited_restricted_items…

Sounds like you are just bad at the internet.

      • sure fair enough about dangerous goods etc, but valhalla said that in the end the seller shipped the good to au, so they cant have been that dangerous

        bad one, SHITO!

        • +1

You have to understand, that we do not create the list of prohibited items ourselves. It is our carriers, like TNT, DHL, USPS, who do not let us send prohibited items with them

  • Damn. I just signed up on the weekend. Any chance of retroactively applying the offer rep?

  • +2

    FYI guys;

www.USGOBUY.com has no annual fee, pay as you ship, no storage fees and no consolidation fees.

I have used their service, they are pretty good, they even refund my money because the actual weight was less when shipping consolidated package to me.

This might be good for people don't ship stuff from the USA too often.

    • why the neg? Anybody have an alternate view on USGOBUY?

  • Hi Rep,

    How about us existing customers?

Any discount for us at least :)?

    Thanks

    Lee

  • +1

Hi Rep, can I get a $10 for my existing account?
Just want to keep the records don't want to open new one

  • Used to use shipito a lot, but not much now.
The biggest reason is they somehow closed their warehouses in China and Hongkong.
(have not yet checked if they have gotta new warehouses opened in both location)

  • 3-year Shipito customer, highly recommend for their professional yet reasonable priced services, helped me a lot on shopping from the US.

  • +1

Yes Rep - any offers to look after your existing Ozbargain Aussie clientele with some kind of deal or discount?

Many of us are $50 per year paid up Virtual Mailbox clients.

  • -3

Try http://www.priceusa.com.au/about.html PriceUSA and support a local businesswoman rather than supporting yanks muscling in. I know a lot of you "cheapskate at any cost" proponents wont agree, if I get negged so be it

    • Yes lets pay extra to a middlewomens who in the end will pay a USA 'yank' for their services anyway. Great thinking.

    • Oh yeah, thanks smartconsumer for reminding me & contributing to the quality of this thread.

    • And she is somehow more worthy of our money than the folks at Shipito ?? Sense of entitlement much??

    • -1

yeah as i said "cheapskate at any cost", dont worry about national pride. so yes she is more worthy than some yank overseas

just for you information an australian business person pays taxes and spends their money here, contributing to the local economy

and that is good for the future of our children and grandchildren

      • +3

        your username is misleading

  • Hi rep,
I'd like to buy a pair of Nike shoes from the Nike US store that are unavailable in Australia. Are you able to receive and forward Nike orders to Australia? I ask because Nike US state in their t&c's that they will not post to international reshippers.
"Nike does not ship to U.S. Territories (Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan, Midway Islands, American Samoa, and Federated States of Micronesia), U.S. post office boxes, international reshippers, or businesses that forward packages to international addresses" (http://help-en-us.nike.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19279/p/3…)

    2) if it is possible to reship to Australia, will I receive them by June 6th (tnt express shipping)?

    • Hi,

      1) yes, some companies like Nike, do not send to mail forwarders like Shipito. Unfortunatelly, there is nothing we can do about this situation.
What we can do, is offer to you our Assisted Purchase service: http://www.shipito.com/shopping-assistance

      2) We can't guarantee that we will receive the product from Nike on time. what we can guarantee is that with TNT Express, it will take 2-4 business days from Shipito warehouse to you.

    • TNT takes 2-4 days once shipped (average of 3 days to me in Nth QLD)

Shipito will ship your item without issue.

The problem you may face is getting Nike to sent the item to Shipito's address. They likely have it blacklisted and will not ship your order.

Alternatively can you buy them off Amazon ? they will ship to shiptio's warehouses no questions asked.

IMO we should be looking at buying from a LOCAL supplier first, then go to overseas suppliers, unless the cost of doing that is exorbitant

i understand that there is usually a premium to buy local, but think of it this way: with those few dollars you are buying you childrens and grandchildrens economic future

we should not be selling the future of our country for a handful of dollars

    • +1

And this is how you become poor ^

  • Signed up.

  • -3

$5 deposit kills it for me – I don't want money tied up in an account that I may never use…

    • opal in NSW is min $40. I dont want $40 tied up on a card I never use.

$5 is less than a visit to the GP. And less than a bottle of 750ML pump water at Event Cinemas.

    • +1

Not sure why you got negged. Paying 5 bucks for nothing would kill a deal for me too

  • Hi Rep…
How can I be sure to get the $10 credit? I subscribed from OzBargain link, but couldn't find anything about the $10 credit in my account or activation email.

    • Hi,

you will automatically receive your $10 to your account after sending your first package with us. If you have any doubts whether you have registered correctly, just write me to [email protected]

  • scam - cost $5 to close the account. Which means you lose you deposit.

    • That is pretty shit
