  • Theearth, is your pic a scan from a catalogue or something? If so, what is on page 3 about it please?

  • Couldn't find the catalogue on TGG website (as of 6:24 this morning), however found it on lasoo. It says see page 3 for details which states,

"Bonus Kobo Mini Sleep Cover Promotion: Applies 29/04/14-12/05/2014 inclusive ("Promotion Period"). These were going for around $20 a while back (without the cover).

    • I didn't know BigW sold Kobos I thought they stocked Kindles!

  • I found the same deal on the catalogue yesterday. I am in QLD. So definitely legit.

  • Hmm good deal but the screen is not really responsive. Got one back when it was $59 and it hasn't been used much :S

    • Mine is ok. Probably not as good as Kindle though.

      • Kobo Glo works much better than the mini!

  • if you have the 'spend $250, get $50 credit' saved against your Amex, then this could effectively cost you $31.20 or so if you manage to crank up $250 between now and the 31st of May? Anyhow, I got one of these a while back from JB and one of my kids uses it. The size means that you are turning pages more often and the speed of the unit is definitely slower than other readers I've used but on the other hand the text is clear and it does actually work. Although it's been cheaper, I reckon it's still a definite bargain - great for kids as well as being even more compact & handy for reading eg when on public transport.

I have one of these, it's freaking great for travelling! It fits snuggly into my jeans back pocket (or a jacket pocket) so I can read in the lines at airport checkin/security with ease.

As some have mentioned it's somewhat slow to respond, but notsomuch that I care. Text is eink so it's perfectly crisp and clear (although not backlit so you'll need a light on in the hotel at night to read).

    Would recommend.

edit: forgot to mention, +1 for Kobo support: Mum had a Kobo Arc (tablet ripoff) which was bricked right outta the box; Kobo happily replaced it via mail after a few emails.

I am glad that the kobo is 'slow to respond' as I am a slow reader.

Got one around 3 months ago from jb through pricenatch. Though I don't use it that much, it just sits in my bag, but battery life is awesome , both standby ( around 1 months and still is 100%) and while reading used to give around a month with light reading. Also , its pretty easy to upload your pdf/mobi files .
Tip: .mobi files are better than pdf files .

    Can't recommend enough.

Would have bought but all my ebooks are on Kindle and I'm not interested in the hacks to export each book to a format that will work on the Kobo
