  • A clear indication of bottle sizes would help.

    • All the death sauces are 150mL (5oz).
      All dips are 425g (15oz)

      Sizes taken direct from bottles/jars.

  • +2

all the death sauces are 150ml
    all the dips are 425g
all the heat sauces are 250ml

    • Can confirm this is correct.

  • These sauces are intense.
I have the mega death and ultra death.
    Seriously hot sauces.
    Might grab some more.

Rep. What is the shelf life of these bottles?

    • Would want to know about the shelf life as well.
I love the Ultra Death. Might mix some Heat sauces for the order.

    • +4

Pretty sure the shelf life is something like, "Forever"… Well, possibly not forever, but they won't go off any time soon :)

    • +3

The sauces themselves say next year sometime (2015), however we have opened bottles that we have had for a couple of years that are still fine

The only ones we have had spoil (our taste test bottles) were the dips but it still took quite a few months of being opened before we had to throw them out.

    • Does it sting upon touch?

      • Not the death sauces i have, but you sure can smell the heat.

I would assume the AM series would hurt to touch

        • Yes, the AM series can and will burn unprotected skin. It's not nice. I also have a fear of going to the bathroom after using the 2 AM sauce in cooking.

      • +2

if you touch it with your bellend or eyes then yes.

        • so bad for foreplay? lol

  • +1

Great deal here, great sauces too… Picked up 10 of them :D

  • Any idea of most mild to hottest for the sauces?

    • +2

      Heat Order (mildest to hottest):
      1 - Sweet
      2 - Jalapeno
      3 - Golden
      4 - Original
      5 - Muerte
      6 - Pure
      7 - After
      8 - Sudden
      9 - Mega
      10 - Ultra

The heat sauces don't really have a rating but I can say Wasabi Green Tea is the mildest though.

  • Huge fan of hot sauce but haven't tried this range. Can't wait to get my order and get those endorphins going!

  • Hi Mate

is there an ingredients list at all?

  • bought 6, i love chilli~

  • Interested. So, which ones are meant for cooking and which can you put a bit on a sandwich/roll?

  • What are the original prices? I can't seem to find them, I need to know how much I will be saving if I buy them.

    • My local deli shop sells them for $15

  • Thanks. Ordered a mix of Death and Heat sauces. Can't wait to try the Ultra Death!

  • what is the shipping cost for only a bottle or 2? i cant seem to find it on their site?

  • just ordered 6
    2 x mango heat
2 x wasabi green tea heat
    2 x chipotle heat

    Thanks.

  • I payed $5 for a bottle of ultra death including shipping. Just checkout normally and it won't add shipping costs. Thanks op.

    • How are you managing that? When I click on proceed to checkout or checkout with paypal, after I review the payment of $10 for two sauces and confirm my shipping address and click continue, it takes me back to the Coffee on Crown site to pick from three shipping options pickup (free) and the other two options are $15

      • I clicked on express post, it didn't add any cost and gave me an order ID#

        • Well I don't know if I did something wrong but I just chose the express post option and it added another $15 onto the paypal bill bringing it to a total of $25. Now I have to cancel my order :/

        • Luckily I got my foot in the door. The store contacted me back and said I could cancel or amend my order and allowed me to add 4 more bottles of the sauces they had remaining.

          Managed to cop

          2x After
          2x Sudden
          1x Ultra
          1x Salsa de la Muerte

    • I'm aching to try the hottest three sauces, but really how much hotter are they from Chinese hot sauce, or Tabasco?

      • +10

        lol. you will die.

      • +1

800,000 will give you a prickly sweat instantly if all you have had before are standard 'hot' sauces its a totally other level.

Not tried these ones, yet, but others you use one drop and a time… at least to start with :)

      • +6

A touch hotter. In the same way that a Ferrari is a touch faster than, say, an ordinary house-brick.

        Good luck. :-)

      • +2

I've had the sampler. Jalapeno & Original you can apply liberally. After & Sudden need a bit more moderation. Anything about 100k SHU, you'll need to understand what you're in for. 500k+ should straighten up your digestive tract into a slip n slide filled with razors. (tabasco would be roughly equiv to the first sauce 3k SHU)

        • +2

Oh sweet Jesus, please make a reaction video. If that is the hottest you have had you are in for a shock. I advise working up slowly at 50,000 shu intervals or you will most likely not be back for seconds.

I have a collection of around 60 hot sauces and have been eating them for years and i still wouldn't use anything more than these on a regular basis (well the 20% hotter limited edition), put it this way when you get to this heat if you can tolerate it ordinary supermarket hot sauces have no heat at all, tabasco tastes about as spicy as tomato sauce and i have used a whole jar of jalapeños on a pizza and been disappointed.

There is 1 hot sauce range at woolies worth trying though and that is Byron Bay Chilli Co. Mango Habanero. At the lower end of the scale but still about 10 times hotter than tabasco, quite pleasant to eat daily and tastes awesome.

Everyone's tolerances are different, but i have made quite a few grown men cry from the Ultra Death some of which used to think they could handle chilli and end up bright red and sweating profusely over a bowl of icecream for the next half hour.

Personally anything over 500k shu ends up becoming more heat than flavour from what i have tried apart from 1 called scorpion that tastes amazing and cracks in at just over 1m shu.

3.5m is the hottest i own and its pointless as Ralph would say, "it tastes like burning".

Good luck on your hot sauce quest, it becomes addictive. Just don't go pouring it on and you will be ok. Seriously i would recommend dipping a toothpick in and trying it at first. I use about half a teaspoon of the mega in a meal.

If you ever get a touch of insanity this is as hot as it gets http://www.hotsauce.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=6331

        • +2

hey, what's the name/maker of the scorpion sauce you've got, and where did you get it?

my ex's aunty bought a bottle of scorpion chilli sauce on holiday, and brought it back for me to try. i consumed half the bottle, and it was really good…but i don't remember the name! (and given she is now an ex, i can't really find out!)

+1 to everything above. although, not sure about the byron bay mango habanero. i've only tried a tablespoon of it by itself (not with food), and i didn't particularly rate it (i think i prefer the el yucateco caribbean habenero when it comes to fruitier hot sauce)…but on your recommendation i'll give the byron bay another shot (with food next time).

ps. of your 60, which are your favourites?

        • +3

The maker of the Scorpion hots sauce I have is Purple Pepper Chili Co. and it is simply called "Scorpion Xtreme Hot Sauce" I purchased it from a shop in Adelaide called Chile Mojo and they do have an online store. Fireworks Foods also have a nice range.

See if you recognize it here: http://chilemojo.com.au/?search_performed=Y&match=all&q=scorpion&pname=N&pname=Y&cid=0&category_name=All+categories&pcode=&price_from=&price_to=&weight_from=&weight_to=&dispatch[products.search]=Search

I agree to be honest for someone who can handle the heat the BBCC Mango Habanero is not that hot at all, in comparison to the Superhots, its probably only about 30,000 shu, but for someone who has only had tabasco etc it is HOT, I eat it mainly for the taste and apply liberally. People usually ask if I want food with my sauce… lol.

My Favourites…. hmmmm now that is a question, picking between my precious sauces :P.
I'd have a couple categories there, ones I go through bottles of, and ones that are too damn hot to go through bottles of but I love the taste of.

Now I love a Smokey Bold flavour and am not a big fan of vinegar based sauces, I also am not a big fan of runny sauces which usually but not always are vinegar based so depending on individual tastes you may love or hate my selection.

Mild - Medium: No Particular Order.

          1. Pain is Good Louisiana Style is one of my favourites, not very hot, but bloody amazing.
          2. Weedkiller is another amazing sauce, once again not that hot but full of flavour.
          3. Crazy Uncle Jesters Angelfire, Wonderful Wing Sauce, can no longer find it in Australia…. please tell me if you do.
          4. Pappy's Hottest Ride in Town, Best BBQ sauce I have ever eaten. Buy It.
          5. Mad Dog BBQ Sauce Ultra Hot with Ghost Pepper, Made 1kg Jerky with this… dear god lasted about a week. Made a few people cry, but they couldn't stop eating it.
          6. Angry Birds hot sauces, present bought for me from Target, not very hot, but the Xtra Hot is surprisingly tasty and the Hot is not bad either.
          7. Any of the Death sauces lower than sudden death and Blairs Heat range.

HOT: Once again No Particular Order

          1. Blairs Death Sauces, Sudden Death and up. Hot but tasty once you are at the tolerance level to find eating them pleasurable. Before that people find its all heat no taste Mega Death+ which is the case with most 500k+ sauces.
          2. Scorpion Xtreme. Hot Hot Hot, Yum Yum Yum. One of my favourites and can bring me to tears if I use too much.
          3. Chilli Factory Devils Delirium. Pretty darn hot, very very tasty. More of a chutney.
          4. Crazy Jerry's Brain Damage / D.i.l.l.i.g.a.f. Really Nice, but a bit thin.
          5. Danny Cash's 1%er Jolokia Hot Sauce. Not super hot, but a nice bold flavour.
          6. Pain is Good Jamaican Style. Really Hot, complex fruity flavour.
          7. Matchett's Chilli Fire. For one I got from Foodland, Wow. More of a chutney, tastes amazing. Lower end of hot.

Vinegar Based sauces i do like are Franks Redhot, Wimp Retardant and I can't remember then name, but it was in a tin bottle with a black screwcap.

Special mentions go to the El Yucateco Hot sauces, Anything that comes with something cool or with special packaging and Scriracha hot sauce.

Fatalii is something I still havent tried and would like to try, have heard good things, but never got around to it.

Btw, I was trying all these while trying to decide my favourites, held my nose when I sneezed due to being around food and didnt get a chance to wash my hand between these 2 events. Lets just say my nose hurts like hell!, but its nowhere near as bad as the time I had a shower after getting a superhot spilt on me instead of just changing my shirt and washing the affected area…. Bad Bad time. XD

        • +1

cheers, my tastes in hot sauces are pretty similar to what you said, so i'll have to check some of these out! (and i get the same comments about food with my sauce as well! aha)

i think the scorpion chilli sauce i tried might have been the scorpion strike by chilli factory (the label looks familiar…although, i'm not sure whether that is actually the one i had, or is just one of the ones i found when i was searching for the one i had! aha).

i'm unconvinced on the blairs death sauces tho…i can comfortably consume it by the spoonful, but i still don't particularly like it. look, i guess maybe i should pick up a bottle and give it another chance…

in terms of vinegar based sauces (which i also am not a big fan of), my favourite is Cholula. i find it has a nice clean flavour. it also mixes well with sriracha, in my opinion!

        • +2

Yeah I have heard a lot of people say they are not a big fan of the Death Sauces, I didn't see your comment below about being a big chilli fan and having tried them, I will amend my thoughts on them (I don't know many chilli heads, just mates who have said that it tastes like burning.

I have always liked them though I guess it's up to individual tastes, or maybe the 2 bottles I have the 20/20 edition is quite different in flavour.

I find they have a dried chilli taste which is quite appealing to me, but I usually have other sauces as well, for instance Mayo and BBQ on a burger which may have a significant impact on taste reception compared to pure.

(Edit: Just tried it pure again after a long time, yeah i agree there is a bit more heat than flavour, but I do find the dried chilli taste appealing and there is a certain smokiness to it)

(Edit 2: AHA! There is a difference in ingredients. The 20/20 Mega has Chipotle, the Normal one has not and the Ultra is completely different:

Standard: Habanero Peppers, Salt, Cayenne Peppers, Natural Flavor, Vinegar, Serrano Peppers, Corn Starch, Garlic, Jolokia Peppers, Spices.

20/20: Red Habanero Pods, Naga Jolokia, Cayenne Chilies, White Vinegar, Natural Pepper Flavor, Tomato Puree, Pirri-Pirri Chilies, Lime Juice, Salt, Spices.)

(Edit 3: Well damn I hope I like them, ordered 2 each of Sudden/Mega/Ultra. I may see what people mean now lol eh worst case I'll mix em with something weak to make that hotter.)

I also like the cholula, just didn't come to mind when doing my list :P As well as another range of vinegar based purees made by CaJohns, which if you like pure chilli flavour are great seeing as they are just 80% of the chilli variety on the label with vinegar.

They do a Fatalii puree but it is always out of stock at Chile Mojo and Fireworks Foods postage is expensive unless you order 6+ bottles not to mention they don't do the pure fatalii only the sauce which is why I haven't tried it yet.

Man Bacon hot sauce….. consider me jealous. I may have to see if Joel at Chile Mojo can get it in.

        • +1

ah, that's interesting about the different death sauces…damn, now i'm keen to try them all back to back, to see if i like any of them! i should have bought them all from this deal!!! aha. you'll have to report back when you get your order!

i haven't tried CaJohns, but i have heard of it. will have to check it out.

that porcus infernum bacon hot sauce is awesome! it's very mild (even though it has scorpion chillies in the mix), so don't expect much heat…but the flavour is insane - like liquid bacon! aha. it's amazing with eggs/beans…or pretty much anything that bacon goes with! including bacon! aha. bloody mary is one of their suggestions…keen to try that!

as i said, it is very mild though…so a perfect candidate for adding some extract to kick it up a notch (i believe the company even makes/made their own extract version of the bacon sauce, specifically to add to the porcus infernum without diluting the bacony goodness! aha. can't find it tho…maybe i'm tripping/wishing it existed!).

        • Yeah you probably would, the flavours throughout the range are quite different. I particularly like Golden Death, After Death, Original Death and Sudden Death despite lacking in the heat department they are quite nice. I will let you know what I think of the Mega / Ultra Death I receive compared to the ones I have.

Yeah Cajohns make really nice sauces, but I am yet to try the purees which I am most interested in.

I must find a way to get a bottle of the Porcus Infernum as I am a big fan of bacon flavoured product, I have a few jars of a product called Baconnaise which as the name suggests is a bacon flavoured mayonnaise and bacon salt which is well, self explanatory. Unfortunately both products have been discontinued on USAFOODS.

      • Wow now that I've read this I will not try them. I can't handle heat well, my body does find it more painful than plenty of people. I get this burning feeling in my digestive track after eating Indian curry, or Lebanese food.

Funnily enough we have this receptor(TRPV1) that recognises capsaicin as pain.

  • -1

    I taste dead people.

    • so do cannibals …. :P

  • REP is it free shipping?

    • +1

Yeh just click checkout it doesn't add any ship price and isn't listed on the site.

      • the Rep did state shipping charge OR free local pickup from newcastle, so if you didn't get a shipping charge you might need to go for a drive?

  • I think this seller has screwed up the process with shipping somehow and those who got "free" shipping are going to get a cancel notice- call me Nostradamus.

    • +2

There should be a cheaper shipping option for people that don't need express

  • Yeah im getting no shipping costs either… >.>

EDI: wait…. It pops me to the paypal page to pay for the goods, makes me choose to have it delivered, and then tells me theres an extra $15 charge but doesn't charge me… What?

    • Shipping options happen at the paypal checkout. Its stupid I know but its how paypal express checkout is setup currently.

  • No shipping costs? Can we get an option without express shipping?

  • Hi

There are shipping options listed. Local Pickup is one if you are local otherwise $15 for 6 bottles as mentioned in the offer.

    • I paid via paypal, it charges me for the sauces before charging shipping. After i make the payment (i paid $15 for 3 bottles), it tells me there's shipping costs after paypal redirects me back to your site, but it just processes it without having to pay for it. (if that makes sense)

      • It adds the $15 if you select the express post option.

If you do not we will get in contact/refund the order if necessary.

        • cheaper shipping standard post? 6 bottles for $10?

        • What I'm trying to say is - It prompts you to select the express post option AFTER the system processes the Paypal payment. So i paid $15 for the sauces, then it redirects me back to your site and then asks to choose the delivery method. I chose express and then it just processes it without asking for more payments. I think its something on your end that needs to be fixed lol.

Or maybe its something im doing wrong?

        • It is correct, and yes we have been in contact with our store supplier to have this fixed because it is confusing.

  • "Due to this special some stocked items will be unavailable. We are currently processing all the orders and will advise anyone of items that are no longer available."

Because that's how online shopping works. You buy first then get told if there's stock or not…

    • +2

We didnt expect to have this much of a response.

This is why we have taken the products offline, rather than try to fulfil more orders that we will just have to refund.

If there are products left over we will relist but will definitely include stock quantities next time to avoid this issue.

      • +1

        Welcome to ozbargin.

  • UPDATE:
No more orders can be taken at this time (we have disabled all the Blair's products on the site)

This is so that we can fulfil existing orders.

If we have ran out of any stock by the time your order is processed we will contact you. Refunds and Exchanges will be available.

  • +3

i am a pretty big fan of chilli/hot sauce (my collection is probably in the vicinity of about 20-30 or so bottles). but i'm not really a fan of these blair's extracts, which are pretty much just the heat (pure capsaicin) without any flavour.

Crazy Wing is the perfect example of blair's (i'm pretty sure they use blair's): yeah, it's hot…but it tastes like cardboard! someone told me the record is 6 crazy wings…i ate two, no problem. i reckon i could easily eat more than 6, if not for the fact that taste like crap!

i would take a bottle of El Yucateco XXXtra Hot Habenero sauce (only 11,600 on the scoville scale) over any of the Blair's any day of the week! if more heat is desired, i have a decent naga jolokia (ghost chilli) sauce that's pretty good (forget the name). also had a pretty crazy scorpion chilli sauce that left me in the fetal position after consuming half a bottle!

having said that, i guess blair's would be good as an extract to add a bit more kick to other hot sauces, or cooking.

    • anyone in melbourne wanna split an order? i'll take 2 bottles of the ultra death sauce for a laugh, if anyone is keen.

^oh, just saw above. well, if anyone in melbourne has ordered any bottle of ultra death sauce that they don't really want, i'm happy to take a bottle or two off your hands!

      • Hi

We are currently fulfilling the current orders and not taking any more.

    • I agree that Blair's are more heat than flavour.

I have Melinda's Naga Jolokia which is around as hot as the Mega Death but also tastes pretty nice:
      http://www.hotsauce.com/Melinda-s-Naga-Jolokia-Hot-Sauce-p/1…

      • Ah melinda's! I've been meaning to pick up a bottle of that for a while…a friend went to a hot sauce convention/show (lucky bastid!) and that was his favourite.

        where'd you pick it up?

        • Wow, a chilli convention would be interesting.
I actually took it out with me from a Mexican restaurant in Queenstown NZ (two years in a row)

I havent seen it the shops before but it seems available online

        • yeah, it was in the US somewhere (where else!). i think it was the NYC Hot Sauce Expo (http://www.nychotsauceexpo.com/).

i was pretty jealous when he told me!!!

but, he did send me a bottle of bacon hot sauce (Porcus Infernum - not particularly hot, but taste-wise, it's pretty awesome!) in the mail…so i can't be too mad! :)

  • ah dang missed out.

I use to really enjoy mega death, I had it with most of my meals during my chilli phase a few years ago, would be interested to have tried the ultra death.

    • Email [email protected] and just say you are interested.

We are going through all the orders now, I strongly doubt there will be any left over but email us just in case.

  • Just recived an email saying my order has been shipped. Nice and fast. Thanks Rep!

    • If your tracking number started with 607 you should get it before the end of the week. Some of them missed the express cutoff today so won't be collected until tomorrow.

      Thanks!

Just a reminder if anyone would like sauces still please contact us [email protected]

We are completely out of Mega Death, Ultra Death and Pure Death though. If you had ordered Mega or Ultra through the site and we could not fulfill your request we have emailed you offering exchange or refund. Theres only about 5 orders that havent responded to us currently.

      • Just picked mine up from the post office. Stoked with the bonus! Thank you very much.

  • anyone received their sauce yet? Have they been dispatched?

    • Hi mate

Do you have your order number? Send a message through ozbargain and I'll check.

We have about 20 more express post bags leaving today and hopefully by the end of today all orders will be shipped.

      Beau

  • All Orders will have been posted by tomorrow. We will probably run another special some time next week but tweak our online store so that there are less issues with weight shipping (sorry to any of you that had to deal with that)

  • Arrived this morning, including the one substitute that was pre-approved.

    • Good to know. The only ones we couldnt supply everyone were Ultra and Mega.

There is still stock available, if we run another special we will revise the site to include stock quantities.

    • +1

Got mine today to. Can't wait to try them out.

      • I can't wait to see the reaction from normal people who thought it was a good idea to buy six bottles of the Ultra expecting them to be nothing hotter than Habanero Tobasco from Coles.

  • @cheapy we ran out of ultra pretty quick. If anyone would still like some of the others we still have sweet, jalapeno, golden, pure (not much left though), a few of after and a few sudden.

There is still a fair bit of stock of heat.

Email us using [email protected] with any questions.

To those that unfortunately had broken bottles you should have been refunded by now, if you have not please either email or call the store directly on (02) 4023 3118
