this will be good if you only have 1 hdd bay and want SSD for your OS and 1TB for a media storage

I'd say it's designed mainly for laptops, the 1TB drive is apparently a 5400RPM so not likely to get hot. Be sure to read the comments and reviews on it though, see what people are experiencing when they install.
Tend to agree with silent1 below though, just plump for a bigger SSD and any concerns over heat are gone and power usage will also be a lot better.
For that price you could get a 480~512GB SSD for just a little more. It's half the space but it runs faster, quieter and cooler.
…and you could shake the laptop about and not worry about skipping! :O
Yep, no point in getting one of these over the slew of very affordable [480GB SSDs] that have been posted here lately, as the SSD in the Black2 is slow.
This is almost entirely intended for laptops and laptops need all the performance they can get, not 1TB of storage.
to anyone wondering, these aren't compatible for PS4 hdd upgrades as the PS4 can only see the 120gb portion (and PS4 OS requires at least 160gb hdd)
I got a black drive 2-3 years ago. Runs very hot and a bit noisy. Hope they have improved…
