Gee that title looks familiar :)

Regardless of the Malaysian incident which could happen to any airliner, find a cheap but good accommodation and this would be a good deal.

      • MH370 was flying out of malaysia towards china, so you have nothing to worry about

      • No sure what the title has to do with any incident.

      • i think he may be referring to this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/139705

      • Like my $37 a night 4 star hotel with breakfast I am staying in here in Siem Reap.. cheapest hol ever..and top notch!!

      • I recommend using Orbitz or hotel club and booking:

Furama (club rooms if you can get them cheap - free alcohol/canapes between 6-8), even the regular rooms are great. Ask for an upgrade to a suite and they will probably do it. (Happens everytime for me).

Royal Bintang (also not bad, a bit more central than furama, so less taxis and traffic issues).

You can get them both for under $70 a night if you search hard enough, I think i got the club rooms for $80au and the deluxe suite rooms for as little as $55 a night for two people).

      • As long you're not flying with four out of five patent holders together in the same plane, while the fifth patent holder is a billionaire who owns the Malaysian Central Bank (which owns Malaysian Airlines) and who conveniently becomes the sole owner of a patent worth billions of dollars when the other four disappear…you shouldn't have too much too worry about ;)

Might get JetStar to price match…

    • I haven't flown with air asia before, just wondering if jetstar is better for the long haul flight?

      • -7

friend of mine had to go through a therapy as the plane was too small and turbulence throughout the flight, not very very good also with small child. if you want a long haul then take a decent airline with bigger airplane, unless you love your money more than yourself.

        • -3

That's not correct. Air Asia uses 777s, the whole idea of bigger planes is nonsense. Since it's the damn same plane ! Infact airasia uses 3-3-3 abreast config, whereas Singapore still has 3-4-3 on some routes.

        • That's not correct. AirAsia uses A330s

        • This is incorrect. Air Asia do not use Boeing aircraft. They are an all airbus fleet
          Air Asia X = Airbus A330-300
          Air Asia = Airbus A320-200

Fly-scoot is the only low-cost airline to utilize a Boeing 777

        • Lol Air Asia X uses A330's usama

        • My point was regarding comfort
          A330 is identical to B777
          Sorry I confused the ACs

        • Edit: A330s** not 777

        • Comfort in this instance is mainly due to seating configuration, not the plane. Air Asia X (which you would be flying) have 16.5" seats. This is very narrow unless you're tiny.

Jetstar in this case I believe is 17.5", which is a significant difference.

      • It's perfectly fine mate, and with these prices you cant go wrong

    • Jetstar doesn't fly to malaysia from Australia.

Plus Air Asia >>>>>> Jetstar. Better+cheaper food, premium economy option and almost everytime I fly on air asia I manage to get 3 seats to myself.

Oh and hardly ever gets delayed.

      • This is incorrect.

        Jetstar does fly to KL.

        • While they do fly from Singapore, there are no direct routes from Australia to Malaysia.

        • Was just about to edit this to say the same thing.

Unlikely you'll be able to price match in this case.

  • only main issue is you will be flying into the LCCT airport which is basically a warehouse with bugger all mod cons, at least until they move to the new klia2 airport later this year

    • That's ok, i'd be more interested in seeing the country not just the airport… :-)

      • -1

its funny that most of the people over there want to move and live here, and you're interested to go there.

    • Only 18days until KLIA2 opens, so most people booking will not have a problem with the old LCCT

    • Complain all you want about LCCT, but it has more shopping and fast food restaurants than Perth International Airport. It also has 24 hour transportation busses for 10rm ($4au) to KL Sentral (which is close to the city).

  • -1

pretty much useless if you're going somewhere else than KL, all the prices to other destinations pretty much the same as full carrier airline.

    • +2

Have you considered flying to KL then flying from KL to the other destinations? Generally those flights are super cheap. I got return flights from KL to Penang for $30 return in January.
