Posting my first deal, hope I get this right!

Great little ultra PC (it's not a touchscreen, so not allowed to call itself an Ultrabook, although HN do) at a great price! It weighs just 0.98kg - makes a MacBook Air feel heavy :P

  • Its not a bad laptop….but a couple of things to note:

    • no touch screen (as already noted by OP)
    • light weight at the sacrifice of battery life. Reviews I've read indicate that the average battery life was about 3.5 hours
  • +2

Touch screen have nothing to do with an ultra-book…

    • +5

According to Wikipedia as of Haswell, Intel made touchscreen as part of Ultrabook spec

      • Touchscreens came out after the first gen of Ultrabooks (eg Zen)

  • +3

Since when do ultrabooks have to have a touchscreen? I thought ultrabooks just had to be super thin…

    • +1

      …super light
      …super longlife battery
      …super fast start up
      …super fast HDD (SSD)
      …super fast chipset
      …super fast USB3

That's all I'm asking for but haven't found in years.
      Sticking with my lappy meantime.

      • Sony Vaio Pro ticks all those boxes.

        • except the wifi cant be used(to be more precise…cant be used wherever the AP distance is >5m) and this make the term ultrabook become nonsense

      • +2

        Macbook Air?

        • …. is not an Ultrabook
An Ultrabook is a marketing specification for a laptop which aims to compete against the Macbook Air

        • I don't feel that's fair. "Ultrabook" is yes Intel's term to create a light weight yet powerful and fast laptop to compete in today's market. But for all extensive purposes, the MBA ticks all the boxes that Intel sets and I would say can be classified as one.

  • i would rather go for sony 13" at least has touchscreen. i think its around 1300 without voucher

  • Hey this is actually haswell, not a bad price tbh

  • I saw this independently and bought this for my wife. Super purchase. Very happy with it.
