Myer $20 and $10 OFF Coupon Voucher (Min $10 Spend)

2360

MOD: Myer Customer Service has adviced this afternoon that this offer was initially sent out only to those who are invited, i.e. targetted offer. However the code appears to be redeemable by many, but no guarantee that it would continue to work. Due to the nature of this offer, it's marked as EXPIRED, but not removed because (1) it has worked for some so not strictly a targeted offer (2) there are already 3 pages of discussions on it. However please do not link to removed vouchers/bar codes and please DO NOT tamper with the code as it would be considered as fraud.

Update: Myer have asked the deal to be removed. It's marked as expired, all links will be removed that direct to any coupon offering a discount.

Received an e-mail from Myer for $10 off in-store purchase (Minimum $10 spend, so total would come to zero) after checking the link, I figured it was a generic link that must have been sent to all e-mails and wasn't unique at all. I changed one digit on the end, and found their are several codes ($10, $20) with minimum $10.00 spends, but there are 2-3 different $20 codes that have different terms and conditions on what can be bought.

The list of exclusion of what not to by seems to be a very very, very long list. Figure out something that isn't included, and you've got you're self 3 weeks of purchasing $20 items for free :)

Ha ha, maybe she thought it will be easier to explain in chinese. I told her I don't speak chinese, I am Indonesian, LOL.

She even took out a real voucher(mailed out version)and showed me what a real voucher should look like.

Yeah should have gone yesterday. Was at work the whole day yesterday doing overtime without pay, sucks.

        • wow, yes. she showed me the "real" voucher as well. she must has her routines.

      • Off topic, ever been to a Kiehl's counter without an Asian chick there?

Heck, even down in Canberra…somehow they've managed to get an ABC there!

        • True that, I think it's because most of their customers are chinese. Found out from my chinese colleague Kiehl is a popular brand of skincare in China.

        • Yes, it is off the topic.
In Melbourne City Myer: Two Chines (I think) (today)
In Chatstone: One asian and one caucasian (yesterday)
In Sydney Bondi: one caucasian male and one caucasian female. (2 months ago)

Rejected at Myer Bankstown, even though i was going to spend $40 after voucher

The young girl was happy to apply it, but when the older lady came, she told he off and made her read the memo that was sent to them. She also mentioned to her the meeting they had in the morning about these vouchers. She then called the manager to come and sus the situation out but i just walked out and told them they just lost a customer and will stop shopping at myers.

    • Poor young girl, does she have any memory at work?

With all this happening, the myer staff in Bourke Street are in high alert. They are refusing anything that appears ona. phone screen. I tried to use my legit Myer Digital Gift Card previously purchased from V.me today. This was a $10 valued card and I had used it once, leaving a balance of $3+. The Myer staff refused to accept my Digital Gift card as she says I am showing her from my mobile phone and she kept insisting that I had to print it out , and they only accept any vouchers appearing on a downloaded Myer One app. This I know was not necessary as I had no problem using it previously. see link https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/130268).
Stupid management cannot even differentiate between fradulent vouchers and legit ones.

    • Yeah.. expected.. the problem is that It works the same way…
It's a same problem for them becucase they must be using same 'TXN discount'

Thats a Lesson for all STUPID Company Board Members/ Decision Makers

THAT INSISTING to CUT DOWN COST, CUTTING IT positions, Fire EXPENSIVE but GOOD SKILL SOFTWARE ENGINEERS/DBAs/DEVELOPERS, OUTSOURCING services/projects.

THE Little MONEY YOU SAVE TODAY, YOU WILL LOSE THEM 10 TIMES MORE SOON TOMORROW!

For this incident, It is REALLY a small and simple Authentication/ Security Problem , that product owner/ designer would very easy to pick up and not let it go to production, Unless Topper management would say, I want this to be done with MINIMUM COST, AND I WANT IT TODAY!

Not IT guys' Fault, it is Strategy Maker Stupidity, If some one need to be fired, I RECON the decision maker.

This voucher this is a small hiccup that any company can face. Do know why you are so worked up and provoking others. Blame everything on the outsourcing, easy.

    • +1

wow.. chill out… It sucks to be IT but Yes IT (management)'s fault.
Assume that they adequate level of funding, then they just didn't deliver.
Assume that they didn't, they should have stood up and said there is no way I am delivering this solution without a proper funding. Decision maker? You mean there is no decision maker in IT?

Just got back from Bourke Street. The lady in the homewares department put all my vouchers through. 2x 20% 2x10% and $80 off. $400 suit for just $120. For anyone brave enough to try tomorrow, I suggest you engage in a little small talk on how busy the store has been yada yada and just keep passing those vouchers on off your phone. Hope this helps someone!

    • Those voucher are valid for like 3 weeks, so just wait for a few day, and give it a go. It might work. :-)

    • lucky u

    • The bar codes are actually gone.

  • Let it die down for the week and try again friday or something!

    • I will be on holiday starting this Friday till May :(
Only have the next 4 days to try my luck

Shh don't say it out loud. Myer are reading all this lol.

I just had a look on the Myer Facebook page to see if this whole voucher shambles was being discussed elsewhere… I'm very surprised to see no mention of it. I share the sentiments of a few others here that it seems unfair that this deal would be offered to some Myer One members, but not all. I would understand if it was reserved for Gold members, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I haven't bought a pair of shoes or an item of clothing from any other store except Myer in years! (Only on sale of course, but I have spent enough there in the last 12 months that they recently sent me a letter outlining that I only needed to spend another $300 before 31st March to qualify for Gold status, so I know they have my address!!)

I am really curious to know how they selected people for this offer, and why I have never been offered such a deal? Perhaps it is to attract occasional shoppers back into the store? I'm not a marketing guru, but isn't there some saying that it is easier to retain a current customer than attract a new one? I wonder if I will finally receive one of these offers when David Jones opens at my local shopping centre next year?

Sounds like all Myer customers are equal, but some are more equal than others!

    • +1

if you're already a regular current customer, then you will still spend your money there, with or without voucher. It's the occasional customers they are chasing for

I recall my mum telling me about how she planned to cancel one of her credit cards as she'd signed up for another with better offers. I can't recall which credit card it was, but it was linked to a department store (not a bank). She called up the credit card peeps and informed them of her plan to cancel the card - they tried everything to persuade her to stay with them because she always paid her bills on time, she had a perfect record and spent a lot. She had her mind made up though.

Then they started throwing offers at her lol. They'd pay her annual fee. They'd send her vouchers. They'd wipe X amount off her current bill etc.

Pretty sure she still ended up cancelling it at the end of that conversation but it goes to show, doesn't it. Long time loyal customers/clients wont get all the best offers available. It's only when they start to think they're losing you that they'll start baiting you back with all the goodies. Quite backwards, really, but a relatively clever business tactic I suppose.

At Myer Doncaster today I saw some Mitch Dowd boxer shorts at $25 marked down to $3, thought about buying 7 of them (total value $175) for $1 (using $20 coupon).

    • +2

      did u buy??

      • +1

Ended up buying other stuff, lots of other bargains…eg. Kenji shoes for $5 etc

  • +1

I just used one $20 voucher. I think people putting 4-5 vouchers in is just pure greed and I hope you get caught out No way was I brave enough to keep passing my phone across to scan for more vouchers. It could cost you the whole transaction.and make the attendant suspicious. This will be overt tomorrow anyway myer will put an end to the vouchers, some people are taking the piss and spoilt it.

  • +1

Just thought I'd shed some light on the recent developments - my mother and sister popped by Myer Northland today and were denied the use of the vouchers. As discussed, a memo that had been sent out yesterday to inform Myer staff members about the voucher going viral. Going forward, they have been instructed to stop accepting these vouchers entirely and new vouchers will be reissued containing the targeted customer's name and MyerOne number.

I suppose the situation is still a hit and miss, but chances of voucher redemption is certainly much slimmer.

    I hope that helps :)

  • So… I've found something interesting.

If you hit the myer link directly, you get the 403 denied error. But if you hit an "allowed" page first, and THEN hit the voucher page, it allows you in.

    An "allowed" site is http://myer.dtdmail.com.au/public/broadcast?sevt=236839725&e…
After you've browsed to that, then try another link, and it should work.

Don't know if this helps anyone though… give it a shot.

    • If you referrer is ozbargain though, or any site, it won't work. so click it, then click on your address bar where the link to the site is, and hit enter again.

      Then try the other codes.

      • Their IT staff at work - now they've set it to check the HTTP header to see where it got forwarded from…

    Thanks JDF (page 4)
Took your advice and went to Ozbargain.org
    There are SEVEN relevant Myer coupons there = 3 x $20 off; 3 x $10 off plus 1 x 10% off (no minimum spend)
MUST be the easiest way to get the vouchers
The hardest bit methinks will be having them accepted!

  • I think there's enough discussions here on this expired "offer" that wasn't meant to be available in the first place.

    • Please do not ask for "vouchers" in comments or via PM.
    • Someone here registered the domain "ozbargain.org" that linked to a few of those vouchers. We just need to put a disclaimer here that we are not related to the registrant of that domain.

given the referral codes/links (MOD name removed)

interestingly, the site has a link for donations to support it :)

      • Yes I know who registered the site especially when someone left the referral code all over the place however there's really no need to call the person out :)

    • Scotty, as most of the discussions following Myer's request to remove this post are of a fraudulent nature, are there specific reasons for keeping this thread? AFAICS it only serves to gain notoriety for ozbargain.
