Cheap Refurbished iPods, iPod Shuffles, Macs from Apple

200

Hi,

I just bought a 1GB ipod shuffle for $39 (incl free shipping), can't beat that. It's refurbished but still comes with the apple 1 year warranty.

They've also got ipod shuffles with larger sizes, ipod nano/classic/touch, macbook, macbook pro etc - all at considerably reduced prices (eg MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo at $150 less than I could find it online, and about $1,00 under RRP) refurbished but again all with the mac warranty, they refurbish them themselves. Can even buy an extended warranty (but didn't bother for my $39 ;-)) See http://store.apple.com/au/browse/home/specialdeals

Sounds like a bargain to me but I'm sure some of you won't think so ;-)

(PS for those who think I'm confused and got this from the US site, see http://upload.ozbargain.com/2009/06/23/2042_ipod_shuffle_rec…)

  • Price includes shipping. For the iPod shuffles, i would still rather something with a screen.

    • perfect! wanted one for jogging. the new 3G ones have no buttons, which is worse than no screen. it's cheaper than ebay too

Good deal. Comes with new earphones. Same price as new Apple earphones: http://store.apple.com/au/product/MB770G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Ng&…

    • is it comes with the earphone with remote?? or the basic white earphone

      • basic whites I'd assume, there wasn't a remote for 2nd gen shuffles like whats on the current gen.

  • Refurbished ipod nano are pretty expensive. TGG has them for $177 and less for cash. Carn't see why you would pay $169 for something that was pretty much second hand.

    • All the extra bits (headphones, books, etc) are new. And the front and back covers are new, so all you are getting second hand is some slightly used flash.

  • Thanks, being after a cheap shuffle for ages.

I bought one of these last time and it's GREAT. Comes with full packaging and works a treat. Would buy again AAA+++++

      lol @ ebay-styled feedback

      • When I've used Ebay I've restrained myself (quite easily) from giving hyperbole.
How can anyone trust a AAA++++ comment?

I know people who didn't get something as described (for the worse) and still left one of those superduper comments. I think it makes a mockery of leaving comments.

i'm sort of guilty of leaving comments that can be deemed 'mockery'… :(
i still give honest feedback when required, but generally they always go like this:
          "FAST DELIVERY, GREAT SERVICE… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED… SUPER-HAPPY-TIME! A+++++(till end of characters)". :)

  • yeah i dont think saving 20 bucks on a 16gb nano is gonna really entice me…

  • I've known about the refurbished deals Apple have on for a while now and in some cases you can get a good saving, sometimes not. Also keep in mind you can also extend the warranty and tech support with Applecare as well. In case you are wondering, with iPods they give new headphones, not used.

  • Is it only me, or are all the shuffles $55?

  • yeha 55 buks
    im getting the same too

I'm going to take a stab but I think OP accidentally went on to the US site which is $39USD.

edit: wait. he said he bought it. maybe sales over then.

    • that makes more sense, i was trying to figure out where he'd gotten that price - when you use the AU site with appropriate pricing, it doesn't turn out to be substantially cheaper unless you go for a previous generation ipod

all the 39 one are sold out
        it's the silver 1GB one

        • i'll second that, they were there as of 8pm last night.
SILVER 1GB ($39) is sold out.

    • I've purchased two refurbished first gen shuffles (in the pastel colours) from the apple store over the past few months for AUS$39 - the second gen seem to go for a bit more. And yes, everything about the products are brilliant… new cases, fixed internals, new earphones, and free overnight shipping. Definitely recommended to offset the apple tax.

  • you only save $30 on something that is 2nd hand and abviously had some sort of problem with it

i would rather spend the extra $30 and get a brand new faultless version
