  Just letting everyone know about my personal outcome.

  You might have seen my earlier post in this thread where I attempted to take advantage of this special whilst the special was valid/current, however at the checkout stage I found that somebody else's personal data appeared under my login details.

  You might also recall reading my describing the acknowledgment that came from Dick Smith via PM acknowledging that it was an internal error, and that they were aware of the technical problem. The gravity of the situation - a privacy breach, I felt was never truly acknowledged by DSE.

  The unfortunate outcome for me however, was that Dick Smith refused to allow me to purchase the batteries at the discounted price in the days following the expiry of the deal. This is despite multiple emails explaining what had transpired.

  A very ordinary experience, and no doubt the new Australian Consumer Laws of 2013 contain some reference to what my rights might be in this situation.

  However, and if you pardon the pun, I lack the energy to pursue the matter further.
