Can confirm these are great. I had a small Briggs and stratton petrol lawn mower (cheapie) that would stall on less than this does. You can easily cut through wet grass with the ego lawn mower.

I bought it about 4 years ago haven't had a single issue with it. Been so impressed with it that I have replaced my line trimmer and bought their hedge trimmer, pole saw and blower. I've been waiting for a decent deal on chainsaw to replace my petrol one.

My mate bought their electric ride on lawn mower to do his 6000sqm block. He also highly recommends the ego brand.

Hey mate just wondering who you price matched with? Ta

Just price matched at total tools in Sydney. Good deal on a great mower. Cuts short enough despite ozb opinions. Doesn't scalp if you wanted it too but could always lower the blade manually if required

    • Hey mate which store did you price match with? Ta

    • Did you do in-store on online? I couldn't get online to match.

Price matched at the brookvale store. They seemed shocked by the mark down but had no issue. By the looks of things they had one more in stock. Potentially more out the back.

        • I tried Blacktown who are the same owner, he said the manager was aware of the deal and wasn't willing to do it anymore claiming TradeTools don't actually have stock left.

          • @impoze: That's a shame. The bloke I went to said their policy meant that they had no choice but to match it. The guy I spoke to at Sydney tools said they had to change their price matching policy due to cowboys like this

  • These are selling out everywhere - collecting mine this afternoon from Ormeau (one left as of 8am). Thanks @Elyxar I have been in the market for this mower for over a year now.

I'm just on the fence about going for the extra 2.5ah battery for another $101. I don't think it would be much use in the mower… tho eventually I'm surely going to end up with a line trimmer or something right? Hmm….

    • i use there carbon fiber line trimmer with the autofeed head. Great trimmer and yet to replace the line in it, been close to a year now.

    • If you have the monies and plan on getting other tools maybe spend $199 and buy the 2.5ah inverter kit. That way you will get a spare charger and end up with 2 x 2.5ah batteries. Might be better buying a line trimmer or blower instead depending on your needs. Just an option if you think extra smaller (lighter) batteries will be of use in your future setup.

I bought the mower and turned down the inverter kit. Then as soon as I left the carpark (and entered the busy motorway heading home) I regretted the decision but couldn't turn back. Ended up pulling into my local store, asking if they'd refund my original purchase and then allow me to re-buy with the inverter to send me over the threshold which they were happy to do.

Gave it a quick go with what little charge came from the factory and damn is this a nice bit of kit. Took me way longer than I'd like to admit figuring out that the start button needs to be pressed at the same time as the lever to engage the motor. Also laughed when I opened the grass catcher to it being completely empty, not realising the mulching attachment was pre-installed. Self propulsion with variable speed is very nice (as this thing is bloody heavy). While still being loud, it's infinitely easier on the ears than petrol. And just the quality of cut seems to be really nice. People who complain about the height of the cut are crazy.

One thing I was absolutely not prepared for was the charger sounding like a hair dryer - little dude is loud! Tho full points to really thinking about the thermals. Keen to have another crack this arvo when I have a charged battery.

  • upgrading from one of the plastic deck ego mowers, Great price.

  • Thanks mate. Got price match with total tools in Sydney.
