A very limited quantity of Bushnell BackTrack Point-3 GPS available in store at Officeworks.
Spotted this at Hunter St, Sydney, which only had 2 left.
But a quick search shows stock at other stores nearby and in other cities too.
RRP $79 down to $50 and now $30.
All I need to do now is find my way to the Officeworks store and back aagin

Reading the Amazon reviews suggests that the device is not idiot-proof and that some of the people who gave bad reviews migh well be …. well….idiots. Sounds like it works fine IF you calibrate it.

Needs to be repeatedly calibrated every time it is used. Often loses satellite contact. Seems like a very "generation one" unit.

any suggestions on a better device? looking for something exactly the same as this due to a "miss hap" on my last adventure…
something that tracks your location and has a compass built in would be ideal.
Some of these clearance items can have issues with the lithium battery that powers it. I picked up a couple of GPS trackers from aldi for $30, which I thought was a ripper of a deal. Supposed to be good for 30 days, barely lasts for 1.
