  • Are there any contract conditions attached to this deal or can I buy the modem for $99.95 and do whatever I feel like after that?

    EDIT:
Nevermind, the Dodo site indicates a non-contract option (half the quota of the 24 month contract option) - I really can't see the point locking into 24 months with 3G at the moment though, especially not with Dodo, hopefully their 3G (optus network) is better than their ADSL service.

I wonder if you can just use the modem with another provider entirely? :)

I gave it a +1 vote but revoked it. Maybe its a good deal, I just hear too many bad things about Dodo…

  • -1

i've heard terrible things about dodo such as constantly pulling money from your account/card (when trying to cancel an account), abysmal customer service and hidden fees

first hand from a friend who used their ADSL service (and couldnt wait to get off it)
and another person who was a journalist, so he threatened to write up something bad about them and whalla, cancellation problems were immediately solved.

  • Does anyone know if this device is locked to the network or provider? I wouldn't mind it being locked to Optus network, but I would avoid Dodo like plague.
edit: Right, it says it right there on COTD page, "This modem may only be used with Dodo".

    • It can be used for anyone on the optus network:

      Optus
      Virgin
      Exetel
      Internode

  • twig is right… good luck getting direct debits/payments stopped when you walk away from them.
