Free Digital Copy of Pixar's 'The Incredibles' with US iTunes Account and Disney Movies Anywhere

400

Disney is running a promotion with their new 'Disney Movies Anywhere' service that allows you to get a free iTunes copy of The Incredibles when you link your US iTunes account to a new Disney Movies Anywhere account. This one takes a bit of fiddling around, so perhaps not for everyone, but those who already have a US iTunes account should find it simple enough.
1. First of all, if you're in Australia you will need to use a geo-blocking plugin like 'Hola' for Chrome to make your browser think you're in the US.
2. Go to http://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com and register for a new account.
3. Once logged in you should see a link to the promotion offering a free copy of The Incredibles for linking to your US iTunes account. Click on it and follow the steps to do so.
4. Voila. You should now have a copy of The Incredibles both attached to your US iTunes account and to your Disney Movies Anywhere account.

An added bonus is that any Disney films you have purchased or redeemed on iTunes in the past will now also be part of your Movies Anywhere account. The same is true for future purchases or redemptions on either service; you will always get both copies.
Personally, I have had trouble playing back movies from Disney Movies Anywhere in browser, even with 'Hola' enabled, but the iTunes copy of The Incredibles plays just fine on my Apple TV, iPad, PC, etc.

Granted this service will probably come to Australia in the future and work with AU iTunes accounts, but for now it's a nice freebee if you already have a US account up and running, or are just super keen for a digital copy of the The Incredibles. :)

Cool - it works. Great instructions too. Thanks OP.

    • No worries. :)

  • Geo-blocking brings out the bad in everyone.

    • resourceful*

  • Got it, thanks!

  • Any idea of the file size mate? Don't really want to do the whole hula sign up if it's over a GB

    • I think it's about 1.5 GB, but I just streamed it so I'm not entirely sure.

Thanks OP - nice find, always up for a free movie. HD version is 3.5 GB.

  • Thanks, OP! Great, easy to follow instructions.

  • why mine said unable to connect accounts. Try again later.

  • I used to be able to switch back and forth between US store and Aus. Now everytime I change the store country it asks to sign in again and redirects you to Aus.

    Am I missing something?

    • Are you signing in with the username for your US account? If you're signing in with your usual AU login then it will just switch back to the Australian store.

      • so you need to create another account for US?

        • Yeah, like I said, this will only work with a US iTunes account, not an Australian one.

      • I used to purchase from the U.S. store and the Aus store.

  • I downloaded Fire Fox and then HOLA but when I go to sign up etc to get movie it still says Sorry not for your region

    What am I doing wrong?

I got it working finally but It won't download in iTunes, just plays from Firefox?

Did you link your Disney Movies Anywhere Account to your iTunes account? If you have, maybe just give it some time. Mine took an hour or so before The Incredibles showed up in my iTunes account.

      • Yer I did

        Nothing

Did everything, it said you can now find your movie in purchased or in ur movie section or something but its not there or anywhere :(

        • Weird. Might just be taking longer than usual? Not sure what you can do except wait and see if it turns up in your account later.

        • You were right my friend, it turned up after awhile, downloading now!!

THANKS and +1 for your help too

correct Op… takes a hour or so to travel through the tubes…

  • ITunes tells me that my computer is already associated with an AppleID (AU one) and that if I try to download this I wont be able to redownload anything from my AU account for 90 days.

    Anyone else or just me?

  • Thanks OP :) Great instructions, really easy to follow!

  • superb! Just watching the movie now. cheers.
