The Nokia Black update has made this a very good camera phone second only to Nokia 808

Thank you for mentioning the 808 :-)

I bought one when the pice dropped to four hundred something and a week later it was no longer available. I must have gotten one of the last ones.

The camera is amazing and the 4 microphone audio thing is great for cutting out background noise and things like wind on the beach.

In all honesty I think the same technology has gone into the higher end Lumia's (such as the 1020 posted here) but I like hving the last ever Symbian phone and being MS free. LOL!

    • I have the 808 also, considering going 1020. 1020 doesn't do bracketing tho does it :(
What exactly did the Nokia Black update do to make it better?

  • i wonder how long this deal lasts, i really wanted to get the 1020 but i dont get paid till next week, can i reserve it at harvey norman and put like $100 down on it now?

The real issue is that Mobile World Congress starts next week :p

What good came of it last year?

People were warned to wait until after the conference before purchasing a phone but afterwards, prices didn't really drop (besides the standard technology depreciation).

He/she could be young I suppose, without any other financial burdens… I hope.

Really tempted to get this phone and with my $5 email sign up discount it sounds like a real good deal but I just got my 920 nine mths ago.

  • Thanks! Picked one up today.

  • I am thinking about…thanks…

My local store has zero stock. So I ordered online with delivery to my door. They sent me an email saying that "your order is being reviewed". 10 minutes later, I receive another email stating, "Thanks for placing your order with us. However after careful review, we have decided to not accept your order. We apologise for any inconvenience."

I thought that it may be due to the fact that the name on the credit card did not match the customer's name. I got my wife to place an order in her name with her credit card and she got the same 2 emails.

They are probably out of stock on-line too.

"decided to not accept your order"

they word it as if we need to get permission to purchase something from them. Geez..

      • Hahahahah…What do you expect? it's Harvey Norman (Hardly Normal)

    • I bought one at Liverpool store, they only have black and white color.

I'm happy with mine, bought 2months ago for 599 + 15 delivery and get free camera grip. But it is international version. Its worth every penny.

What do you like about it? Is it just the hardware e.g. the camera? Or do you also like the interface and OS? Do you find the on screen keyboard easy to type on? Thanks for any comments you have tim to add :-)

  • For anyone who is considering getting this - don't forget Windows Phone 8.1 is around the corner which will make it one of the most solid smartphones in the market.
