Plays loud and clear

Many people never think to upgrade their car's audio system, suffering with sub-par sound when they listen to music. Pioneer's GM-A4604 4-channel amplifier will greatly improve the sound quality in your so you'll look forward to spending time on the road. This punchy Pioneer amp will power your front and rear speakers with 40 watts RMS each, which is a huge jump over the power supplied by your car radio. You'll hear more of the little details in your music, even when you turn your system up to compete with the road noise.
Practical features

You can also put this versatile amp into 2-channel mode to send up to 120 watts RMS each to a couple of component speakers or subwoofers. Switchable 80 Hz high- and low-pass filters on the A channels help take the rumble away from full-range speakers or the sizzle away from a sub. • this is a good deal for anyone who wants decent sound without spending alot

    40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (60 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
120 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

    So how is this a 480W amp…?

    • +5

Probably 480w peak, a useless marketing figure to make the amp appear more powerful.

      • any reputable amp will only advertise @ 4 ohms @14.4v claiming anything else is simply BS.

        4-channel car amplifier
        40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms

i assume thats at 14.4v which makes this a 40w amp. fine for running some front end splits or something but not really enough grunt to run a good pair of subs.

claiming an invented 400+ watt figure is simply deceptive and misrepresenting the product. like claiming to sell you a 1L carton of that only contains 200ml of actual milk…..

          Hi Nosdan,

i can understand your frustration with the rating system but i can count (on one hand) the brands that dont use peak output as their main rating system (for advertising), hence why we dont hide any of the specifications in our advertising in fact we actually outline the RMS output.

          Have an awesome day !

  • This isn't a bad deal. It's not a high end amp that's for sure but for a low cost setup this is a decent price considering all the wiring. I have the 6500F at 60 x 4 RMS and it absolutely SCREAMS. This amp may very well be underrated.

  • "w a n k e r' watts have been a marketing tool since the 80's and I assume before that too. Nothing has changed here. We at least have been given the RMS too.

But heres the rub, (profanity) watts or even RMS, watts is irrelevant. Watts is a measure of power consumption, not output. Everything is measured in watts, 100w spotlights, how loud are they? 100watt speakers, how bright are they?

This type of system is not designed for Skylines or Silvias and the pre requisite doof doof. It will however make the average stocko system sound like a completely different system. More voume, more oomph without going overboard.
