      I remember reading articles that referenced the discount Lenovo received, but keeping control of the bulk of Motorola's patent portfolio was always going to be Google's path.

      If the actual deal had been posted on OzBargain, the, um, 'limited quantity available' might have been a bit of an issue… More angry OzBargainers than on some of Dick Smith's shorter lasting click-and-collect deals!!

        Indeed.
        Lenovo has done is what so often in similar circumstances like these - paying alot of money for a name that they believe will still have some caché in the marketplace.

        Probably a better bet than BenQ paying a pile of money for the Siemens mobile phone division all those years ago (there's a blast from the past), but we shall see…
