As we konw the MK802 Android PC-on-a-stick series has been quite successful thus far, with a recently upgraded version of the device boasting an Allwinner A10 processor, multiple USB ports and a full size HDMI port.
And now a third iteration of the MK802 with a faster processor running Android Jellybean has tipped up.

The new device runs Google Android 4.1 (Jellybean) and features a Rockchip Rk3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual core CPU paired with quad-core GPU. Additional specs include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of flash storage, a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional disk space, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a USB 2.0 port, mini USB port, HDMI port.

Because the HDMI port is on one end of the stick, you can plug the device directly into a display. It can then be used to run Android apps, play games or stream videos.

  • how do you control it? does it come with a remote?

At this price I'm fairly certain this won't have any input peripherals. It's USB OTG supported so you can plug in any USB mouse or KB.

    • There's also an android app you can use.

    • this product has 1 x USB 2.0 Host port for wired keyboard; 2.4G keyboard, mouse, hand grip, etc

you could get a mk908 with a rk3188 and 2gb for the same price. no deal

Sorry to ask, does this mean if I plug the HDMI to my non-smart TV, it will make it a smart TV?

    • +1

      Yep

      • Thanks, will save tons of $$, have been thinking of getting a smart tv upgrade.

I've been considering this myself, but there's one question that I can't find an answer to: is it fine to just cut power to these Android sticks, or do they have to go through a shutdown procedure?

I want to power the stick from the TV's PVR USB socket, but when I turn the TV to standby, that socket gets power cut. Will that harm the android sticks, particularly if they are writing something to flash (e.g. auto-updating an app) at the instant power is cut?

does anyone know if this thing is capable of running XBMC?

I have a dedicated HTPC which can do the decoding, i just want to stream media from that to another TV (hopefully with a product such as this).

      I got the MK808 which is similar…

I have tested XBMC awhile back, but the result wasn't great due to no hardware acceleration support. A few month back I heard that XBMC merged with this other group and now supports hardware acceleration, but I have not test it yet.

Currently I'm running Plex, which is very smooth, but hates subtitles.

Also the combo of ES File explorer with MX Player is always an option.

These things do come with a ton of bloatware, and its best to download and flash a different rom on it(also rooted). The Wifi antenna was a major pain in the ass for me, which I had to buy an external Wifi antenna.

If you are kin, you can connect your ps3 pad via usb (this thing doesn't look like it has bluetooth support but if it does, you can connect via bluetooth), and play all your fav emulator games on it.

Worth the money but you need to put in a lot of time and effort to get it run your way.

      • ok cool, thanks for the writeup.

It's not a big deal if i have to configure it etc, including rooting and flashing firmware. I do want to stream media though as I see myself eventually with netflix on the HTPC. Unless this device can handle netflix independently

this is an awful price for a single core - even the same site (as they say in the comments) has quad cores for little more, dont buy this. It is ancient in android terms.

    • We are bringing the best deals and bargains, and you're welcome to compare this item with other sellers to see its price, awful or not-this stick is dual core-you could find some new items with amazing performance in our catalog, for only a little more, however,we would share them later.

  • +1

Why share them later and not now if they are so good…

    • +1

yeah you're right but we could only share little deals per month and we prefer sharing the best deals and bargains first since the new ones have the possibility of a discount.
