Noticed this today when looking for a sim only plan for the other half.
The double data is for the first 6 months
and is only for new services (not existing customers switching to sim only at end of contract etc)
pretty good deal overall, Vodafone has pretty good coverage these days, I am on VF and I went to Beechworth on Xmas day and had coverage the entire trip which the year before was not the case. Their 4G is pretty damn fast too, hence why the other half is moving off Telstra and I was looking for a deal.

an example:

$35 SIM Only plan now with 2GB data
Get more for less with our popular $35 SIM Only plan. It gives you all the value of the Vodafone $50 Plan to use in Australia.

Infinite standard calls to Vodafone numbers within Australia
$500 of included value^
2GB of data for a limited time (normally 1GB)

Their other plans are here:

    Agreed on the coverage improvement.
Speed test on VF 4G can reach 80Mbs+.

  • "Double data is only available for months 1-6 of your plan"

"Connect on any of our SIM Only plans before 11 March 2014 to enjoy double the included monthly data for up to 6 months. To get the full 6 months of double data, just stay on the same month to month plan without moving after this date. T&C apply."

  • great timing. i'll switch to this while i hold out on a price drop for the iphone 5s

I would never go back to Vodafone, pay for insurance monthly and when it comes time to claim its just BS after BS

    • You are aware that mobile phone insurance is the same company for all major teleco's. It's a company called Marsh insurance. Has nothing to do with Vodafone etc they just bill you for it.

Being so naive as to trust VHA…ever.

I'll stick with the network that can deliver emails while I'm climbing down a waterfall…in Kakadu

  • 2GB?? I use that much in an hour.

  • Damn, I pay $25 a month for 2gb & more calls/text on Optus! Prices have really gone backwards over the last couple of years.

  • hmm they must have too many customers again/ considering such regressive change from Jan
