  • I don't know about FUN, that was from the website !

It's a fair bet that the magnet information will be recommending the use of a crapload of chemicals given that the item comes from the American Chemistry Council :)

  • A picture of the magnet is included here: http://hunt4freebies.com/free-deal-kitchen-germs-a-1-2-punch…
    And the simple directions are:
    1) Wash hard surfaces with hot soapy water then rinse
    2) Apply a chlorine bleach solution then air dry

  • Wolfy, Tks, I think I can remember that complicated procedure ;).

However, I am always on the lookout for those quite strong tiny magnets that I use stick stuff onto my filing cabinet, any ideas on sources anyone plse? It's not the v v v strong ones that stick you to any metal if you happen to swallow them (as some kids have), but very quite strong ones if that makes any any sense.

    • "……I think I can remember that complicated procedure….."

perhaps minus the chlorine bleach, that seems unnecessary :)

      • or substitute the chlorine for vinegar

  • Plus, another useful trick is that when u r finished the kitchen clean up for the day, rinse out the Wettex (which I use), squeeze out hard and nuke on high for 2 mins. Will almost dry the sponge which is good as germs love moisture; the steam in the microwave will clean the side for a quick wipe out, and the heat neutralise 99.9% of known germs - you know that phrase.

Yes this is so essential because before we were killing 99.9% of germs people were dropping dead all the time as I'm sure you know from your childhood where the majority of your siblings died because mum didn't disinfect the kitchen on a daily basis. Most people don't seem to realise the entire population of third world countries die each year, and are reborn again, due to almost no use of modern cleaning chemicals….

There's zero need to kill all the "kitchen germs" and those people who try and achieve that are now strongly suspected to be damaging their long term health. "Anti-bacterial" wipes, bin liners and other crap will hopefully be banned in the next few years as they're not just a waste of money but potentially very harmful to the efficacy of certain drugs for the few people who actually need them.

  • In fact, I'm already dead from all those germs, (or 'germans' as my patriotic war living Nana used to say).

Drying the sponge does stop it from smelling and going slimy to the feel.
