At Kogan it's currently $349 plus $33.99 shipping. At that price difference I'd be inclined to go with DSE. But I am not sure I'd want to pay over $300-$350 at all for something this old in the market (even though it's still got pretty decent specs).
Did anyone actually manage to get one for $329 with free shipping? By the time I looked on the 26th, shipping was already $34ish. Really hanging out for a good deal (ie close to $300) on this tablet, which I expected to be getting by now, considering it's over a year old.
As OP mentioned, if you did purchase some gift cards, this is a good deal.
Come with 2-year warranty!Id wait for the Nexus 10 2nd Gen - rumoured to be released Q1 2014.
If at all
It is based on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 which retail stores have been selling for the past month.
when will google give us microsd??
They won't. They want you to use their Cloud services.
… so the NSA can log all the data they can
never
Umart has the best price for the wifi - $569.
rumoured to have been released Q4 2013
how does this compare to dxtreme tablets with the same screen size? what is the difference
Cheap tablets, like Dxtreme, usually suffer from a wide range of issues including mediocre build quality, shorter battery life, poorer quality screen and less performance as well as a smaller storage capacity.
Firmware on china-tabs might also have issues too, which go unpatched because the company doesn't have the resources to go about pushing out SW updates. So you may be stuck with glitchy, buggy or slower systems.
If you have a look at the spec of their latest D1030
http://www.dxtreme.com.au/D1030/d1030spec.htmlit won't even hold a candle to a Nexus 10.
I bought a ICOO D70PRO II for my daughter last year and this year the Google Nexus 7 and the battery life and build quality is like night and day, never buying cheap Chinese tablets again.
Haven't looked into these for a while but the poplar ones were the cube u30gt and anything made by ainol. I have got a few of these for friends and all were happy with them. Only minor issues such as tinny sound on the cube, one has developed a dead spot on the keyboard but apart from that they are happy. In total got about 7 so not that bad really, but as with anything you buy from overseas there are inherent potential warranty issues
Cheap tablets are inferior in the following areas:
- Incorrect partition means you are left with 1GB phone storage and 15GB internal SD. This means you can only install limited apps.
- Build quality is poor (buttons stop working after a while or AC charger port starts having issue after a while, and really high chance to get a tablet with dead pixels)
- Useless warranty: you need to post it back to the seller and they will inspect the device first before sending you a replacement
- Cheap components used (cheap wifi chipset - wireless N 150 (not true wireless N) and drains battery, below average camera)
- Stability issue (the one I bought crashed about 4 times and each time required a full reset to factory default)
Don't buy them.
Great tablet….but $400 to be limited 16gb is a hard sell.
I bought my 32gb Nexus 10 for $320, hence my comment.
link? description of where/how?
didn't kogan sell it for 329 a while ago? australian warranty is nice.. but if it's $70 difference..
