The Edifier x330 ($64) was by far the best sounding unit of the lot.

Good price, but Total RMS power: 36 watts just doesn't cut it.
Guess its better than any other $29 system.

Really? 36 watts is 1/2 as loud as a 360 watt system.

Not being picky here, but audio watts to volume increase is not linear. 10 x watts = double volume. 36 watts should be reasonably loud for desktop speakers.

could it double as cheap speakers for the TV using the headphone jack ?

  • Awesome. Just needed a cheap decent speakers for my tv.

    • not sure these qualify as decent, buy certainly cheap.

  • I currently have an ancient stereo system plugged into my computer (looks like this), but I don't use the CD, tape or radio functions. It's 100W, but I only use the speakers when at the computer - gaming, watching videos, etc. Would speakers like these serve as a functional replacement?

  • sure, or any similarly priced Logitech or powered monitor speaker systems.
Also try office works, JB hifi, etc.

What you would find with Edifier speakers is the manufacturer underrates the specs, I own heaps of Edifier speaker products and found them fantastic sound quality (YMMV). What I did notice with Edifier was the specs. were pretty mediocre, but you'd have to listen to them at JB or some store that has in store demos to understand the quality of it.

  • Not being able to purchase. Is this still on?

    • I created an account and was able to purchase it!

      • how do you visit or open the purchase page?

    • Tks Mate, the webpage doesn't work well and I have to try many time to add it into chart.
And was mistake to make multi orders and wait the confirm email then to call centre to keep only one order.

Picked up a set at Ipswich store. Hooked up to girlfriends laptop, perfectly adequate for her needs. Actually sounds decent. Cheers OP :)

Haven't owned any Edifiers, but have had more than handful recommendations for cheap friends saying that they're the best they've heard for the price. One of them was even an audio nut and he used one for a low powered multimedia pc for the kids. He said that it beat the pants off much pricier 2.1 PC setups. I'm not an audiophile, but I've heard it and I was impressed. (In fact that's why I noticed them in the first place and that's why my friend explained Edifiers to me.)

  • Very low stock, not to mention extremely slow and bad customer service. What a put off. A normal private seller would be more polite enough to answer a call or put a sign to say Low stock only 5-10 available

Agree. What store were u in?

  • Auburn one. Also called ultimo nsw

really bad customer service..ordered the speakers through adelaide CBD store..they said its out of stock and may come in a week, 2 weeks or a month.. I then called up other adelaide stores..they have them in stock but cannot give it to me at the promotional price!!..really disappointed

    • I purchased one during the sale and received confirmation. MSY Dandenong branch then said they had sold out and the order has been cancelled. They now have it back in stock and will not fullfill my order at the promotional price!!! Absolutely shocking service!!

  • Placed my order at MSY Geelong during the sale. Today Is the first day they open after holiday. Picked up at the sale price no problem.

I went to the store and bought one. The subwoofer it self has a 5 3/4 inch subwoofer with great sound quality. The satellite speakers were also great and 36 watts of power, well that's just awesome.
