  • Anyone have one of these?

    I am looking for a little point and shoot for my wedding so we can shoot a copy of the video over seas to family who cant make it etc…

  • I believe this is the same camera, check out the user reviews;
    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HDR-CX220-Definition-Handycam-Cam…

  • I have been basing my opinions on a lot of youtube reviews and clips… (hence why I havn't brought one yet at regular prices)

    looks alright in this clip though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq7d_ZsgnDM

  • Most of these video cameras in the low price range do not give great results, especially in low light…

  • Can you use this as webcam? (nothing on Google)

  • Pretty sure they have superseded this model recently or are just about to do so…

  • Generally fair to good reviews on Amazon UK site - most of the negative points are whinges about the lack of a charger or SD card (but they should have read what they were buying).
    I've unpacked and had a quick play with one I bought earlier. Initial thoughts :
    Build quality feels pretty cheap (I would have expected more from Sony), but the quality of the video seems very surprisingly good and zoom seems awesome. Haven't experienced any of the 'chirping' noises from the autofocus/zoom mentioned in one of the reviews so far.
    My criteria was that I just wanted something to last me a couple of years. (It comes with 1 year warranty - add to this extra free 1 year for purchasing on Platinum credit card).
    I didn't see any point going for top (or even mid range) as by that time I'm sure much better models will be available for a cheaper price.
    So far I'm happy with my purchase.

    • drongodave, can you please upload a recorded 1080p/60fps video clip to youtude? I want to see what's the quality like.

  • Anyone know how it compares to the Panasonic HC-V110 which sells for $198 http://www.harveynorman.com.au/cameras-phones-gps/cameras/di…

    • +1

      I have looked at lots of reviews for both these cameras and the general consensus is the Pana has superior image quality, but both are entry level models so don't expect too much.
