  • +1

The last pair I got online via the sale was too large :-(

    504 - Gateway Timeout

    Server down? 504 Gateway error…

    https://www.williamsshoes.com.au/LAMONT-MENS-HIKING-SHOE-Bla…

website seems to be down for that one aswell

    • +1

Can't select the size or add to the cart.

    • +1

Thanks but something wrong with that page. Not letting me add to cart.

Found a similar type gator casual shoe sale from that site. But probably not as good quality, for $25

      • +1

        .
        ..

  • +1

I'm generally on the smaller end of a size 13, worth taking a chance with the size 12?

  • +1

    504 - Gateway Timeout ughhh

  • +1

Good pricing but I already have a pair from the Black Friday sales.

  • +1

Nice one OP. Previously bought the Atlantis for $29 in their last sale. Should have waited for this.

It is actually not really a shoe but half shoes half sandals kind of thing.

    • +1

Do you think they will be suitable for general gym use?

      • +1

        Free returns, if needed

      • +1

Depends how intense you normally work out I think. I'm not a gym guy so can't really say. Sorry

      • +1

You really don't want to use hiking shoes for the gym. Too much grip and a bit rigid. Trust me, I've worn hiking shoes for a gym workout before (was on a work trip and didn't have my joggers with me when I wanted to do some gym stuff at the hotel).

  • +1

Quality wise. Is Colorado still the same Colorado? Haven't bought anything since the demise of their retail stores.

    • +1

I've only bought the black leather office type since then, which are still good quality. What I miss are the laceless casual shoes that they don't seem to make anymore

  • +8

I'm no hiker so don't know how good these are (but bought a pair anyway)

that's because you are an ozbargainer

    • +1

      Ha ha can't help myself!

  • +1

That's about how much they cost from China anyway. I've gone past the stage of buying shit just because it's cheap. I've got enough shoes here to last me a few years anyway :)

  • +1

the colorado web site makes cotd's site look efficient

  • +1

    the website is almost dead.

  • +1

Poorly coded site, cant handle the load, shopping cart keeps clearing out with constant gateway timeouts.

    Rubbish!!!

    • +1

Agree about the site, but the post was excellent

    • +1

wait till you get to the stage where you need to enter a billing address and it wants to auto-check it.

      • +1

I was there, entered my address, ticked paypal and then the site crashed!!!

      • +1

all i get is "an error has occurred" if i try to pay using a visa debit card

  • +1

Could these be used for running ?

    • +1

these will have ankle support to ensure you don't roll your foot when you walk and hence heavy for running

  • +1

On the checkout page but the price is now reverted to the full price.

  • +1

They took my money but no order confirmation. Love these deals

Edit spoke too soon. Hopefully smooth sailing from here :p

  • +1

    https://www.williamsshoes.com.au/Men/shop-by-category/shoes/

same shoes/company/options/depot/price but a faster website

  • +1

9:04pm - With a lot of F5's, and errors, got there in the end
Paid with paypal and confirmation email received

  • +1

bah, been trying for half an hour to get a pair of size 12 and now they are all gone

  • +1

Took me longer to buy these shoes than it does for me to walk the 11km Dave's Creek Circuit in Lamington National Park.

    • +1

You must be faster than Cliff Young!

      • +1

Nope, just the site is glacial, with many crevasses (504s).

  • +1

took a long time, finally bought one!

  • +2

yeah i think the site is hosted on an aging laptop

  • +1

The site is laggy but got my order through by refreshing the Timeout pages… Just keep F5 ing…

  • +1

I've had to fill out my payment details 3 times already.
Why won't you take my money?!

  • +1

    ozbargained…

  • +1

Thanks, took dozens of reloads, but did not need to re-enter data.
Had better be a good shoe!

  • +1

Accessing their website, I feel like I am in the digital equivalent of quicksand.

  • +1

no wonder they cant sell anything with this kind of website speed

  • +1

    Woooo :D

      Well that's just great!

      Now the internet is Broke!

  • +1

Anyone else unable to get past entering their address? It uses an automatic lookup for postcode & state based on suburb name, however for me it's not loading the postcode/state after typing in my suburb… This isn't just slow for me, it's impossible to use.

    • +1

It did that to me as well. I found that by typing in just the first 2 or 3 letters of the suburb and then hitting Tab, a dropdown list eventually appeared. Very frustrating, but I eventually made it through the checkout. Good luck!

      • +1

cant insert suburb sydney, for sydney NSW 2000 (cbd)

  • +1

i tried for 1.5hrs, eventually it worked. Try clearing your cache.

  • +2

The website is hopeless. Gateway errors, sql runtime errors… pathetic!

The australian retail market has the gall to try and stifle the consumers from using overseas websites, when their own websites are a joke.

GIVE ME CONVENIENCE, OR GIVE ME DEATH!! (credit for this line given to the good folks from the Dead Kennedys). ;)

  • +1

    I give up :(

  • If it is taking an enormous amount time, try iPad, that what worked for me, only took about 10 mins. Or maybe I got lucky, but I never get lucky.

  • +2

This reminds me of the good old days of COTD deals. :P

  • +1

I got past entering my suburb & selecting postcode/state, but I'm now trying to submit the order and constantly getting:

There was a problem processing your order.

    An error has occurred.

    Sigh…

    • +1

Its bad when it keeps crashing on the paypal portal.

      • +1

I've just given up. They're good value, but at this point I think my time & frustration is worth more…

  • +1

Ctrl+R is your friend, having said that, it took about 15 minutes and 30 refreshes to get to confirmation!

    • +1

Same here..order confirmed.. about 10 mins with lots of refreshes..

  • +1

Any one has cheaper source for Asics Kayano 19 or 20 from US or UK? pls advise.

  • +1

Watch out for payment error message and don't re-submit payment before you check your credit card statement (on-line banking). "There was a problem processing your order. An error has occurred". Lucky I checked before I re-submit the payment. Found out that Colorado processed charge to my credit card regardless of the payment error message. Wait and see if the order arrive in the next few days. One thing we all agree, the site is soooo slowwww.

    • +1

Smart. I did a similar thing by putting just enough money for 1 pair on my card. I got the same error as you but checked and saw that money has already been taken out of my account. I checked my order history on Colorado> my account but it says it's empty. Might send them a follow up email just incase.

  • +2

On 2 tablets. currently have 7 pairs of shoes in cart on one of them and 4 in the other.
Don't ask how that happened - I only want one pair…
[I'm not a sadistic ebay reseller]
Can't get past the "refresh your cart" when I try to revise qty to one.
Miserable experience, crap website - obviously never heard of OzB

    • +1

Yeah I got 2 quantities instead of 1 using my phone and my tablet. Ijust had to restart the process over again…

  • +1

    This is insane!!

  • +1

Stupid site, but in the end victory was mine! Yay Persistence!!

  • +1

Very good post but I cannot make it happen.

  • +2

OP I don't think there is returns for this item.

"No returns or exchanges for change of mind on sale items purchased during Mid-Season or End of Season sales."

    • +1

As it says, that's only the case for "change of mind" returns. Any other return would be fine, eg wrong size, something else is wrong with the shoe.

Good to read the fine print though :)

      • i'm pretty sure a wrong size is a "change of mind". i think returns for deal are only for defects, wrong items, etc

        • Pretty sure change of mind = "Oh, i don't want this crap anymore"

Wrong size = "oh damn, i bought the wrong size, this product doesn't fit my needs"

    • +1

This is written at the bottom of my order email from Colorado

P.S. We trust our products are exactly as you wish, but if you change your mind, we have a 14-day return policy. If there are any issues, contact us here or follow this link for more info: returns information link. Please do not reply directly to this email as it is automatically generated.

  • +1

Took a while but got it to work. Thanks so much op! I was in need of some shoes too.

    Colorado mangement next week

"Hi. Is this the web host? Yes. I want to upgrade my plan to support an OzBargain deluge."

    Host: "OzBargain deluge? What's that?"

Colorado: "that fire you had in the server room last week. Well, it was caused by…"

Host: "Right away sir. Let me suggest our Business Pro Elite package…"

Colorado: "That's the ticket. Keep talking…."
