Not sure about the TV, but less than 1k for 58" sounds pretty good!
Hmmm the 55" uses more power than the 58" and its difficult to confirm whether it is 50hz or 100hz..
No detailed specs available anywhere.

It is only 50Hz, I bought one, might take it back.
Jbhifi advertised it as 100hz in their store though.
is hisense a reputable brand? I've never heard of it.
one of the bigger chinese brands. would say it's on par with changhong, TEAC and such. better than the budget tier (e.g. palsonic, soniq, AWA etc) but not quite up there with the big boys
We have a smaller Hisense TV (39") which we're very happy with. I think it's one of the better Chinese brands.

The panel is sidelit… so there's a lot… this is an understatement.. of backlight bleeding…
Reminds me of the older cheap monitors..
Motion seems a little off at times.

Power colour is short and CANNOT be disconnected from the TV… Rip it out by accident.. and the TV is dead / gone..

bugger! me too, guess i'll try to hit them up about their 30 day price guarantee (webpage doesn't seem to be loading atm). I haven't noticed the edge lit backlight bleed on mine or blurriness, however most SD FTA 576i streams seem pixellated. I haven't tried blueray yet.
I've just acquired the thx optimizer, so I'll try doing a basic calibration. I agree that the colour seems a bit off. None of the presets are doing it for me, but I'm sure I can tweak it to look half decent.

can anyone please tell me if this TV is any good for gaming/PC??
We just brought this tv today and have just set it all up…we are finding the voices aren't matching with the picture…I have tried using the lip sync function to rectify this but it doesn't seem to be making much difference…does anyone else have this problem? If so, did you find a way to fix it? I honestly don't think I can keep this tv if it stays like this…doing my head in!
no lip sync issues here. I left the setting on the default. Is the lip sync issue with dtv only or does it happen when playing a dvd/blueray?
The TV on Good Guys website: "Hisense HL55K21PZDL 55"(139cm) FHD LED LCD 100Hz TV" isn't 100Hz. I bought one from the local store based on this information but it isn't 100Hz. It appears as 50Hz in the brochure. I'm now considering my options, what seemed like a good deal now seems pretty ordinary.
I don't understand. This deal is for the 58" not 55 and it's $946 now.
The 55" is $746 -
