    Over the years I've bought many a nylon kitchen utensil. When I was just starting out, I purchased some from a $2 shop. When using them, I noticed they omitted a chemically smelling odor. For some, this was mild and only when I smelt the utensil up close. However, for one particular spatula, the smell was so bad than when I used it to extract a slice of homemade lasagna it actually tainted the bottom layer of pasta. I thew them out and purchased some slightly "better quality" ones from Coles after a good sniff test. Never had the same issue again. Not knowing the quality of these, although $4 is a true OzBargain, I'll pass. As a side note, keep an eye out for the handle design. So many of them that have a comfort drip design will end up getting water in them and drive you mad trying to get it out.

    Got mine a few days ago. Tried it out for the first time just now.
    After one use it started to melt! I was boiling some fruit.

    When I put it directly on top of the stove and I can see the plastic drip off. Definitely not the heat resistant nylon as advertised.

    They're also very floppy, when I try to take some food off the plate I'm afraid that it could be slingshoted across the room.
