  • run time is the killer, charge for 4 hours and get 5-6 minutes of fun

    • replace the batteries and charger with decent ones, and yuo should get 20-30 min run time and 90min charges…

      • Wat batteries n charger?

        • i dunno, the specs aren't posted.

  • +1

    how bout hobby king boats?

  • Are the batteries easily replaced?
    How much are extra batteries?

  • I'll get one if it's fourty bucks…c'mon rep give us a xmas pressie ;)

    • I would be interested too if the rep can bring the price down a little. Maybe even through in a spare battery pack?

  • That video makes me dizzy =S

I have several of this style of boat. The specs are very good. Most come with tiny batteries and I replace them with this size. I also have double horse types but this one looks great.

T-marts charger http://www.tmart.com/IMAX-B6-Li-ion-Polymer-Balance-Charger-… would speed up the charge time a lot faster!

Water cooled and a decent lipo as standard this is a great deal I think. Performance on the video is very good for the price.

I have some youtube footage of us racing similar boats and also a lot of sailboats. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheShipShaper/videos

    Hope that helps.

    • Thanks ShipShapeRC.
Since you seem to know what you are talking about would this boat be the best value option for a beginner that wants something super fun?
There's also the chance it may just be a fad that lasts 3-5 full charge cycles then gets shelved.

      • Have a look at the videos. Us BIG kids just get more and more fun out of them. They are fun especially if more than 1 are going around. We mainly sail, but have a few motor boats too. We have a get together periodically and it always ends up in some smart so-and-so (usually me) hitting some other boat and then it's all on for bouncing time.

Best value? Well pretty darn good. We have tonnes of RC gear already so we can mod cheaper ones to be like this. I reckon bang for the beginner buck this is pretty good. I don't need another and I'm tempted.

  • Looks good going to get one of each

  • just remember, that the motor in these is brushed, and will required maintenance or replacing.

Probably better off spending the $30 more to get a brushless setup from hobbyking imho.

  • Mine arrived today.
A bit dissapointed that it seems to of been used (maybe to test?) as there are a few minor marks on the boat and the controller had some water on it.
Anyway will see how it goes once it is charged.

For those in the know, when I plugged the battery into the charger it had a red light come on. I then turned the charger on and it stayed red for a short time then went green. Do these lights tell me anything about when the battery is charged?
Just worried it may of come pre charged and green means its ready so if I leave it for 3-4 hrs I will be over charging?

    • HI, the boat was tested before sent out.
The red light shows that it is charging and when it turns green, then the boat is full charged. And 3-4 hours charging is ok.
