  • Coincidentally I went to Southland today and tried the food at Rolld for the 1st time.
I had the 'B' Vegetarian. It was fantastic. I wanted to get a roll as well, but after the 'B' I was really full.

Its good healthy/tasty food. I wish it was free at Southland tomorrow, Highpoints a bit too far for me to drive to.

    Good bargain.

  • rolld is awesome, free is awesomer… I wonder if the owners of grilld have an issue with the name…

    • Yeah their imagination has run wild… "Let's add a 'd' at the end of roll!". Next shop to come along will be bake'd or steam'd. :p

As long as the trend of putting 'i' in front of things is over I'm happy.

Anyone actually bought one of their pork rolls before? They're like 8 bux! I don't know if I can commit to that level of extortion when Vietnamese bakeries sell them for around $4.
I haven't actually tried it myself.
So maybe I'm quick to judge and in reality, it's worth it.
    Maybe I'm rambling.
    Yeah!

    • If u want to try the pork roll, try Nhu Lan in Footscray (even the Cops line up at lunch there, leaving their cars parking in a no-stop zone. But I support them having a good, cheap and quick meal to be able to get on with their good job though).

The Vietnamese bakeries are everywhere and they are good generally. U could also find the good ones in St Albans, Sunshine, Richmond and Springvale.

    • Yup, I tried their $8 pork roll once, though there is more meat inside, it can't explain the difference in the price with other bakeries. The taste was okay, not worth the extra, definitely recommend Nhu Lan (footscray/richmond) or springvale bakery
