I remmeber getting a reward card for free when i bought a movie ticket on march.

    • It was probably the other way around. You paid to join hoyts rewards and redeemed the free movie on the spot. I remember it's always been $10 to join.

      • Nope, i bought a ticket, they gave me a flyer with the card in it. I had to activate it online when i was home. And i remmeber having a free movie in my bonuses after activation.

    Thanks OP.

If I understand this correctly (maybe i'm just being a little slow), you pay $10 a year for membership - and that $10 includes a free ticket. Once you've bought another 10 tickets for Hoyts movies, they give you another free ticket.

You have to pay $10 each year for membership, but that $10 gives you a free ticket each time (note: this is a guess, as it's not clear from the post).

You can buy the $10 Optus movie tickets, and somehow let Hoyts know that you've seen a movie at Hoyts, and use your Hoyts card. This will go towards the 10 movies that give you a free ticket.

In effect, you're getting movies for about $9, but you're being forced to pay for one ticket per year.

Personally, you may benefit from this - but the system just sounds like too much work. I think i'll give this one a miss, which is surprising, because my favourite Cinema in South Australia is Norwood. It's Hobbit proof with HDR and Extremescreen…

    • Yep that's it. I don't think it's the biggest discount but some may benefit from this. After all, a dollar saving is better than none if you wanted this already.

      • All that typing in the OP…to save one. measly. dollar.
