    +1 for dorra

  • Sorry, off topic - Any suggestions on how to get cheap Gold Class tickets?

      Rock up on a Tuesday

Find the cinema with the smallest screen, wheel in a dust recliner seat from home, buy some cheap wedges from woolies.

I suggested going here to a friend recently & they said no as patrons can smoke during the movie. Anyone know if this is correct, as big turnoff if true.

    • +5

      Can I smoke?
Moonlight venues are largely smoke-free. However, every venue has a designated smoking area. Any person wishing to smoke is required to enter the designated smoking area.

    • I've only been once, but don't remember it being an issue. Only one way to find out.

  • That's the usual Telstra movie ticket price, is Moonlight more expensive than normal cinemas?

    • Hell yes. This deal is the only thing that will allow me to now go :)

      "General Admission Adult: $18
      Concession: $16
      Seniors & Children (5 to 15 yrs): $14
      Discount Thursday’s – $12"

Depends on your cinema is the correct answer. I know Event George St charges $19 or $20 per ticket.

      • Sounds the same as every other cinema in Sydney…

  • yes it is

  • hot tip: Make sure you get early or you'll be so far away from the movie you may as well be watching on your phone.

It's not that bad. I sat outside once, saw half the screen and it was pretty decent. Great value.

      • :D Genius.

Can this be combanded with this deal:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127090

    Anyone know?

    • Not as far as I can see. That offer is for Event Cinemas, this one is for Moonlight Cinemas.

      Unless I'm missing something.

      • +3

it looks like event cinema kinda runs it… because the loading page is really similar

        • Yeah, I would guess so too. Once you've selected your movie and time, it takes you back to the Event Cinemas page to pay.

    one can not smoochy outside.

  • Do you have to be a telstra customer? eghh.

    • +1

Technically yes, but if you buy a $2 SIM, even if you never recharge it or use it, you count as a Telstra customer and you're only out $2. I saved over $2 on the first $10 ticket I bought with it, so it has already paid off.

Thanks for the tip, I just bought a $2 sim. I loathe Telstra, but happy to part with $2 for cheap movies :-)
