  • Monday is $10 at any Village for RACV members,
Tuesday is half price at any Village (so around 11.25$ pp),
Wednesday is $10 students tickets too.

Only time I go outside of those days is the odd $6 kids movie on the weekend morning sessions.

Shout out to Metro Boronia. Was out that way the other day and saw the new Captain America, $10. If movies were still 10/12 I think a shitload more people would go. I live in Morwell (thank you for your condolences) and if I paid 22.50 (plus a booking fee online lol) to see a movie on those little screens it'd have to be Titanic or Avatar or something 3 goddamn hours long minimum. 22.50 when half the movies these days are around 100 minutes. Ridiculous. Throw in then too, the popcorn and stuff, and yes, I know there's deals and whatnot, but there's a halfway fun little Cap popcorn bucket with pop out wings and shit I contemplated getting for the baby who's into Cap at the moment. Only available in a combo (so a cup of Coke and the popcorn, nothing more) and it's 39 feckin' dollars. At that point I could just go buy an actual Cap toy and have change leftover for a popcorn lol.

Anyway point being, it pays to go on the right days / times. Sweet deal if you're local to AW Village.

I would have gone to see Captain America at Sunshine but all the sessions were in premium cinemas.

@pichxlonco: Arrrrgh me mateys. Come aboard, you'll love it !!

      • hey - can you give a rating/review on the comfort/features/cleanliness of your Village Airport West experience?

        • I saw Captain America in Cinema 4.

The cinema was quite long and narrow. The cinema only had one aisle which ran done the centre. Never seen that before. You would have to sit in a aisle seat to get a centre position to watch the screen.

I was going to sit near the back but because the screen was so small, I sat in the 4th or 5th row from the screen to increase the amount of screen in my field of vision.

The first chair I sat on was broken, so I had to move over get a stable chair.

As I entered the cinema during the previews, the cinema was dark. But as I left after the credits, their was popcorn in a few rows. Don't know if that was from the screening I just saw. As I left after the post credits scene, I didn't see any Village staff coming in to clean. I assume they were understaffed during the day.

It was passable but if I was on a date, I would go to Sunshine, Crown, Knox or Highpoint Hoyts for a better viewing experience.

      • Hate that shit. Remember they did it with Jason Bourne 2016 and I just waited a few days…should have just skipped the movie all together

I went to airport west village around a month ago on a 37 degree day. Do not recommend. It was disgustingly hot in the cinema and when I asked if they could turn the air con on they said it’s not working and it’s an issue with the centre. Would be ok on a <30 degree day though. Old school plush velvet seats and mediocre cleanliness. Service was just above average though so they’ve got that going for them

  • Generally I go to Hoyts due to their recliner setup… I found Village Cinemas near to where I live offer 'non-recliner normal' chair…
