There is also another value pack for the light duty Irwin clamps of a 4 pack for under $30 which is quite good.

Yes, but all sold out at both Cairns stores. The $30-for-four clamp grip set is regular price; I bought some about 2 months ago They're more grips than clamps but will do for most applications.
these are good, but normally aren't reversible to be spreaders.
Also I have managed to break one of these, hammering something that I had clamped (hence why I'm looking at this bargain…)
These ones are definitely reversible to be spreaders (at least it says so on the tag of the ones I bought):). Also there is a little tab that you can push to lock /unlock the pad so that it can adjust for slight angles. They are definitely more beefy than the light duty ones, and less beefy than the silver heavy duty ones.
I have several of these clamps and they are great. Probably the best feature is that they can be used one handed, leaving your other hand free to hold the stuff your are clamping. They are really quick and easy to release and clamp. At this price they are a bargain.
