    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Eneloop-Tones-UOMO-8-x-AA-Recharg…

$19.98 - Delivered from DSE eBay. (newer Eneloops aswell)

I did just see those one the DSE website… so i suppose this deal is for those who want bright colourful batteries LOL

      • wow…didn't know dicksmith have eBay account!

as wbeer point out, dicksmith deal is better as it doesn't limit 1 for each person/purchase…
and newer + better batteries with shop front return/support (COTD is online shop only)

still, thanks for sharing the deal, you deserve a positive for sharing deal(different product than the dicksmith)! :-)

    • You can get velocity points with that eBay purchase.

  • Actually it is coming up with free shipping so this is a good deal.

  • What do you guys use to recharge them?

If you compare this to the eBay Dicksmith deal then this is not really a deal per se.

Its similar to me comparing a 4th Gen Intel Laptop to a 3rd Gen Intel Laptop saying "oh the 3rd gen intel laptop is a bargain…. when there is same model 4th gen intel laptop for the same price"

Although not as much difference between the Glitters and the Uomo range, however there is still a slight upgrade there.

Australia is always atleast 1 year behind Japan in regards to Eneloops. Maybe next of next year we will start seeing the Panasonic Branded Eneloops.

I know its harsh, however I'm gonna neg this just so people read the comments and make a better decision.

    • It's harsh because there's not very much difference. See the Sanyo page here:

      http://www.eneloop.info/home/whats-eneloop.html

1800 recharge cycles before battery capacity is 50% (or whatever the Standard says) compared to 1500 cycles. In my experience, batteries in a household with children get lost way before then.

90% retention after 1 year compared to 85%.

DSE is a better deal because it is available at a nearby store etc but if a person is happy to buy from COTD then it is still a reasonable deal.

To get the same price delivered ($2.50) from HobbyKing for the Turnigy batteries ($1.60-1.70ea plus delivery) requires buying around 12 batteries. The turnigy are 2400, though only rated to 500 recharges and 70% retention after 1 year.

I'm negging you for negging what is actually a good deal.

Yes, the DSE is currently a better deal, but this is still a good deal with perfectly fine batteries that can still be purchased for a lot more than $19.95 from a number of places.

  • What's an UOMO? Last time I checked white loops have more charge cycles than glitters.

    • Eneloop Uomo is the upgrade to the Glitter Range.

White Eneloops keep getting refreshed and is actually a few generations ahead of the Glitters.

    • What's an UOMO?

A Special Edition range of eneloops dressed in different jacket to the typical white. The Rouge and Glitter range are some others. The brand new Special Edition seems to be Tropical: http://www.eneloop.info/eneloop-products/eneloop-batteries/s…

      Fresh!
The difference between the second generation (1500-cycle rated Glitter range) and third generation (1800-cycle rated range, like the Uomo and Rouge) is probably very little in the real world. I'd go with whatever floats your boat better.

The manufacturer's 'up to' claims are optimistic anyway.

  • Anyone else getting this message when buying the ones wbeer linked to??
