        No it's not, world wide only if you get Apple Care with it.
        This isn't a bargain for an grey market version.

          I do not think that is true. I have had not problem taking my mac in to get fixed in any country, and I have never had apple care.

          Warranty for pad and iphone is country specific. Only worldwide on macs and macbooks

          maybe i've just been lucky but i've used it in the 4 countries i operate in with no issues (for iphone, ipad and macbook). perhaps they're not that strict?
          having said that, its so little extra to buy at BigW that its worth buying local since the 1 yr warranty is a contentious issue with local consumer protection regulation. you can often get a freebie between yr 1 and 2 if something goes wrong.
          come to think of it, my wife scored a freebie from apple on her macbook touchpad problem even though we had bought that in the US.
          oh well, just support the one that pays more local tax then…

          i once took an ipad my cousin bought for me from US to Sydney Apple store to get a replacement and there was no drama at all.

    A employee of mine wants an air 64gig and BigW has the best price for sure, but no stock.
    Local warranty is very important for an item like this thats for sure.
