Been looking around to get a motor installed for my garage door. Came across this deal. Much cheaper than all the other quotes I received.

  buy your garage remotes from Ebay for a few dollars - they work a treat, but not worth $65. Good deal on the door though.

  Get roller door motors from Bunnings… come with remote and decent quality too.. Very easy to install, just need a power point near the door.

  My garage door motor assembly fell apart a couple of months ago (16 years old). Got a new motor from eBay for about $200 delivered. Installed it in under 30 minutes.

  Having said that. $430 isn't a bad price if you can't be bothered, don't have a ladder or not physically fit enough to lift the gate up to install the motor.

  Oh yes, my own garage door opener motor burned out a few years ago. I went to bunnings and got a chamberlain garage door opener for ~$250 including two remotes to replace it. What I did learn: garage doors are damn heavy (even single ones), and you feel very accomplished after you replace it yourself.

  I wouldn't deal with them out of principle for having that stupid pop up woman and man with their loud voices - bloody annoying and totally unnecessary.

  You can get a B&D CAD Diamond Power fitted for around $500 and that is with 5 years warranty if you call around and it is much better value.
