  • is this where you ask questions?

    • Yes, but be careful, you may get more than you bargained for…

    • Yes!

You can also contact us here. But if you keep it on OzB your question might also help others.

  • There are plenty of helmet-compatible bluetooth headsets for a fraction of that price.
I use a Nokia BH-503 - about $20 on ebay for one with no serial number :-)

Happy to be proved wrong, but that Nokia looks like a closed system - a pair of headphones that go over the ear? Dangerous and no good for cycling!

The advantage of the RichardSolo FreeWheelin Audio System is that it is designed so that you can hear what's going on around you and is thus safer. The speakers sit on the side of your helmet, not over your ears. It's also packaged with Dual Lockā„¢ adhesive strips which are strong enough to hold the speakers while allowing for easy removal at any time. It's purpose-designed for cyclists.

      • Do you have any solutions for cycling wind-turbulence noise?

        • If you're riding in a gale then the sound may deteriorate. I've used the RichardSolo FreeWheelin Audio System on calm days @30km/h without problem and without going to max volume.

        • Nah, I'm thinking purely in terms of wind noise minimisation. I get horrible wind noise when travelling above 15km/h. I've tried things like SlipStreamz. The wind noise means I can barely have a conversation with a fellow rider, let alone listen to music.

        • Have you tried a different helmet?

        • Yes, three in fact!

      • that Nokia looks like a closed system

Absolutely not! They rest on the ears, and allow outside sound through.
Closed headphones have a big pad that goes around the ears, against the skull, and would not fit with a helmet on. Actually, open headphones can have that too. You cannot tell the difference from a casual look. The other sound-blocking type is the in-ear-canal.

"over ears" is very different from closed.

  • Could anyone who bought last time around please give some feedback on the backpacks.

    • Zippy7, I know it's not exactly what you're asking, but if you're anywhere near Hampton 3188 you're welcome to come and see the backpacks.
