I'm going to break the rules and give this a negative. I don't want to see spam services advertised here.

I also do not like spam

  • Why do you think it is a spam?

Why are emails collected through games rather than directly requested along with the reason for collecting them?

      • Fyrebox is a Facebook marketing platform that helps you create a competition on any timeline/newsfeed. Whoever wins the game enter her/his email address to receive his/her prize.

Thus allowing you to send unwanted marketing material to the emails collected, correct?

  • well that's the same for every Facebook marketing platform no ? Shorstack, woobox, Google Wildfire let you create a custom tab to give away coupons, create a sweepstake, …. Fyrebox is just different because it lets you create a competition straight on the timeline and using games, that's it. Maybe I should change the headline to make it less spammy.

    • I'm fairly certain the users here dislike "targeted marketing campaigns," which is what it seems as if you're encouraging here. Essentially your service gets people to play some game, then enter their email for a chance at a prize. This behaviour is fine. The problem gets introduced when the people who use your service then use that email list to send their "targeted marketing campaigns." People tend to get annoyed and think things like "I just gave you my email for a contest, I don't want this crap."

I'm aware that this is where the money for the service comes from, otherwise there would be no point in having the service to begin with. However, it's still something that the vast majority of internet users dislike and would like to see gone from the web forever.
