Similar deal to http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86732. Usually retail at JB Hifi for $149. Checked stock levels around Melbourne and seems to be in stock. Have just picked up a set and they sound very good.

      I got the Phillips CitiScape Downtowns which are pretty good, but I prefer the MDR-V55, better bass and louder volume.

    When you're not logged in to the Dick Smith site, it says home delivery is available. However if you log in or put it in your cart, suddenly home delivery is unavailable.

    Bugger. My +1 may have been a bit premature.

    I got these for $50 from Dick Smith last time they were on sale. Excellent. The cord is quite short though that's the only downside.

    Yerhp it says home delivery but when you add it to cart it greys out, great price if you can find some in stock near you. No store near me has stock sadly ;(

      not as good as my Phillips Downtowns which are extremely comfy, but nothing to worry about as these are still comfortable :)

    Still have an unopened pair of Phillips Shibuya headphones from a previous Ozbargain win - ended up with them for $8 and will be interested to see how these compare.

    I "reserved" stock through click & collect at castle hill. They just called & told me they have no stock.
    That's pretty disappointing as I could of done click and collect at a number of the other Sydney stores which had stock when I made my order.

    Just picked up a pair of red ones. Very happy with them. Any reviews knocking comfort or length of cable are a bit harsh I reckon, to me the are perfectly comfortable and cable length is fine. Cheers OP! Still 2 sets in black at Noarlunga SA as of 2 hrs ago.

      When I tested them at JB, they were the best sounding in their line up of headphones, which included several at twice the price of the MDR-V55, so I agree they are awesome :).

        Yeah after trying mine out, i agree the sound quality is better compared to my citiscape from the HN sale… but its not nearly as comfortable… it feels like it clamps onto my ears and just hurts after 30 mins of use

        Still great headset

      much more presence than my Sennheiser HD438's - a set I was never happy with. Very happy with the sony's. A replaceable cable would be nice but excellent product at this price. Captain Beyond's self titled album sounds rad!

    Dick Smith at David Jones in Chadstone Shopping Centre has 1 black pair left about 2 hours ago. It scans at full price ($149) so you need to refer the salesperson (if you didn't get the salesman that served me) to their website for the discount price. Good Luck.

    Sorry for my long post.I just went to DS on Rundle Mall today. I aksed the Chinese girl and she confirmed the Price and said it run out of stock, however, she checked on the system and guided me to David Jones where is still locate on Rundle mall.she is so helpful!!! The saleman at David Jones is another story!! When I asked him, he quickly get the headphone on the shelf and said, $149.95, you can only get discount 30% at the price, NOT 34.95. He even didn't look at me when I tried to explain and show him. After he phoned someone which is make me wait so long, he said that he could not offer me that price and the price on ozbargain is not DS officially price.He still made me wait when he's browsing from categories to anoyher one on dicksmith w website. I said why don't you use the search bar, he ignored me and me wait again…until I used my phone to search and show to him. He must agreed at this stage. Finally I got it .Putting on his position, I totally understood him. But i can't tell the way salesman treat his customer is a good way.

      Actually i got mine from DJ in Bondi (operated by DS), they priced matched it no questions asked… they just had to check the price at DS and done.

      Perhaps it was because you mentioned you were a "pro"

    There was still 4/5 left in bussleton when i picked mine up today.

    Overall really impressed with the sound considering the price tag.

    Great value pair as my backup / closed pair to my ad900x's.

    While they lack a bit in overall clarity, particularly in the mids, the bass is quite decent
