This is underrated smart phone. Much better than Nexus 5!!!!!
Camera is better. Bigger battery capacity. Much better display quality.
And with this price at DSE, it's about the same price as Nexus 5 too ($469).

So LG G2 at DSE = $657 - $180/$170 = $477-$487
Nexus 5 = $469
Total difference is $8 - $18
Even without TRS, the difference would be $68-$78, and I prefer G2 comparing to Nexus 5 as you will get better and bigger display, better cameras with OIS, better batteries.
And if you like White Colour, LG G2 is better than a fake white in Nexus 5 :) (only the back cover is white)
If you going to count getting back GST, please make it like for like, since you can do the same thing with the nexus 5. So it isn't $8-18 difference afterall is it?…

I bought my Nexus 10 from Google store and got TRS back last year. So yes you can get TRS for Nexus 5, which I already bought a 32GB one and will get it when I leave next month. But this deal is quite good. Might get this one as well. Does JB gift card sell well on Ebay or other places?
I suspect we'll be seeing the price difference between the n5 and lg g2 series drop some more. If I had to choose between the two phones, its hard to beat the value of the n5 because really the 32 gb version is a waste for me. I don't know what people do with their phones to require more than 16 gb, but each to their own. They both have an ois camera too, but the LG G2 is definitely better. The few difference I suppose are probably worth dropping $150 extra, but then the LG G2 is gonna be lagging behind in the OS updates and will probably lose support sooner.
If your phone is your primary device (ie. you don't own a tablet) 16GB is not nearly enough. Again depends on what you are using. Without microSD expandability option a decent game goes over 1 GB, the 13MP/8MP cameras with 1080p videos take up quite a big space. I have a 32GB phone and I am constantly deleting/transferring old videos and photos to make up space.

Just to clarify, users have reported that this isn't the genuine LG case but a third party one by VOIA not unlike the $10 ones you can find on eBay.
Have a funny story to tell, went to buy this phone at the George St store about a couple of weeks ago after my old S2 died.

I bought this phone a few days ago and its really stunning to look at. The bezels look amazing on the white version AND it doesn't attract ugly fingerprints as much.
The battery life is seriously awesome.
I got the flip case with it too and tbh, I'm not a fan of it. Get an otterbox if you need a real case. this one makes the phone uncomfortable to hold, looks average, and wouldn't offer good protection against drops anyway

Yes Nillkin make great cases, that's what I have on my nexus 7. No way I'd spend $50 on a case. :D
Thanks man, its good to know that you can get other non genuine cases. But I'll stay away from flip cases. They look good but feel pretty awkward to use while texting I found.
Was looking more into cases, and if the OtterBox isn't your thing, the Spigen SGP case is a nice alternative.

Tried your receipt today at JB - belconnen canberra, and they refused to do any price match. Said Internet is full with fake receipts :). Also the lowest they can go is 620 (coming down from 638$). I didnt buy obviously. The attitude is quite wrong as they looked at me in a way that I was committing a robbery by asking at that price.

Z1 is great if you want an awesome camera and the ability to use a microSD card.
Else, the G2's screen blows the Z1's out of the water, and I think the G2 is slightly faster.Hmm so hard to decide between this the z1 and the n5

I use telstra, many choose aldi or boost. I think the z1 is better, but then it should be since it costs more. It will be interesting how much the z1 mini will cost since it'll just be a smaller screened z1. The z1 is hefty too.
It makes no sense how the price has gone up to $727. That makes it even more expensive than Harvey Norman at $644. As others mentioned, you can get it already get it pricematched for $570.

Yeah you're right. My mistake, I was in a rush this morning and mistook the bonus case as the gift card.

At lunch last week my mate and I got a price of $620 at the Local Optus Store, we walked down to JB's and the sales rep put $588 on it… my mate snapped it up + he goes OS next month and get !0% back. It was AU stock, 32GB and came with the bonus active case.
With the DS deal your basically paying for a $70 gift card.
