Picked up a copy today at the Scholastic warehouse sale, last one for $6 but slight tear on back cover :D

    • I picked up a copy today just behind the pulpit at St Mary's Star of the Sea Cathedral in Darwin.
I doubt that's much use to anyone either.

  • Scholastic sale has this for $8 at olympic parkk =]

Great price - ordered one, now just to work out whether I keep it for myself or give it to my son for Christmas…

    • You've got plenty of time. Read it first, and decide AFTER you have read it.

  • The YouTube clip about this book really made me want to get it. So I did :)

    • Yeah, i just listened to it too.
Sounds pretty awesome actually, but hell i've got a lot of crap already…

Quote at end: … and there they are right at the push of a button on your fingertips in your headphones full stereo high fidelity.

    Hey, we've been here before

    • Yeah, this has been on sale for a while.
I bought it instore at QBD at Erina in September for $20.
Its a good read for us SW nerds. Basically goes through all of the sound effects in the movies, with samples of each one to match.

      • Hey Ben,

Can you confirm there's a headphone socket & the quality of the sound?

        • Sorry for the delay. Yes there is a headphone jack. I've never used it though. The sound quality from the little speaker is good enough. Nice pickup on the name. lol

  • Isn't it ironic to be analysing and reliving the sounds of SW through a tinny tiny embedded book speaker? You can kiss those dolby and thq logos goodbye.
It might be an interesting read but the only way to fully appreciate and enjoy the audio is through a home cinema surround sound setup.

    • The video referred to above suggests a headphone socket for high fidelity stereo.

  • what a great find, BTRaynes!

  • looks like I missed out:

Unfortunately you've tried to access a product that doesn't exist.
    This can be because:
The product doesn't exist in our database.
The book may no longer be in print.
We may have sold out of a clearance item.
We may not be able to source the book from our suppliers anymore.

  • It's still purchasable, click this link;

    http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=6&ved=0CDcQF…

Which takes you to the Entertainment section Best Sellers and from there you can add to cart.

Bit mysterious that it's disappeared from the original link.

  • Thanks, BTRaynes!
That worked for me and I was able to order a few of them. These will make great gifts.
