The Millennium Falcon is the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!
To create the unique sound of its fly-bys, Ben Burtt went to the US National Air Races in the Mojave Desert and recorded World War II-era racing planes flying directly overhead. The occasional thunderclap or lion's roar was also mixed in during the moment the Falcon passed the camera.
With more than 250 sound effects and based on exclusive interviews with Ben Burtt, The Sounds of Star Wars celebrates the galaxy like no other book. From the first films through the Prequel Trilogy and the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, this is the ultimate behind-the-scenes books for Star Wars fans of every generation.

Slightly off topic (apologies to the OP) but I use AutoCAD for my work and I only noticed a couple of weeks ago that when you select the units you can draw in, "Parsecs" was on the list directly beneath "Light Years".
And? I dont understand your confusion.
Light Years IS a measure of distance, just like Parsecs.
1 Light Year is the distance light will travel in 1 year.Autocad can obviously be used to draw solar systems and star maps…. hence useful units of measure.
I wasn't confused - just stating a fact. One that only users of AutoCAD and lovers of Star Wars MIGHT find funny.
Don't see the point to a condescending answer here.
Condescending?
I wasnt attempting to be condescending mate, hoondaboy was replying to a post about distance vs time (as opposed to a making a new post as a separate remark), and I honestly thought he was confused.
If he wanted to make a separate remark, maybe he shouldnt have replied to the first post.
And hoondayboy, I AM a fan of both and did find your remark amusing (hence no neg votes from me anywhere here).
A little defensive there champ.
Just trying to explain myself… but I'm very quickly seeing its a waste of time.
Haha. No stress, UFO.
Perhaps I don't fully understand the etiquette as to when to reply or when to start a new post, and maybe a more generous serving of smilies would have cleared the whole matter up :)hoondaboy shot first
Maybe he's saying they exited early.
No "Remuxed by George Lucas" on the front cover, so you get the old sounds.
Also noticed that the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia is on sale - 57% off bringing it to just under $15
http://www.qbd.com.au/product/9781409367796-Star_Wars_Charac…the sound the death star makes when powering up
Vader: Deep heavy breathing
Emperor: something something dark side
R2D2: Arrrooooooooo!!! Beep!!
X-Wing Fighter: Pew! Pew! Pew!!!
Admiral Ackbar: It's a TRAP!!!
See, no need to pay $20 when you can make your own sounds and they're instantly more gratifying. J/k. Good deal tho. :D
I would pay a small amount of money to hear you re-enact these sounds.
I re-enacted them all whilst reading it ;)
Shouldn't the sound of Star Wars be silence? You know, the whole sound-not-travelling-through-a-vacuum thing?
We're talking about a galaxy far, far away. Our simple rules of physics simply don't apply.
Every time I hear that reference it reminds me of Han's quote "You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon?… It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs" except parsecs is a unit of distance not time!
