  Just a note on this. It's a good gesture and all to be fee free but it pays to shop around for the best exchange rate.

  Western Union has zero fees to the Philippines till 30th November. Just enter promotion code HAIYANRELIEF2013 Promo codes are case-sensitive. Use ALL CAPS

  Thanks OP. I usually send money via Phil shops but this works out ok without the fees. I can use credit card also. Still it is more convenient as I can just do it on the web.

  Terrible exchange rates from western union even without the fees. I am using my ANZ debit card at the moment and still getting 40.50 php from 1 aud. That is inclusive of overseas charges.
