Twin packs Bob, tried to get the prices in header as well. If you don't like it….

  • Ah yup, so buy 3 2-packs and you'll get discounted prices? I paid 48 for Boags premium at Dan Murphys, this does stack up really well!

    • Wait, that's 6 two packs. Quite the investment!

      • sure its 6 two packs?

        • yup.

  • didnt know they did discount on multiples of these, thanks for the heads up, for those looking for the link: https://www.liquorland.com.au/Pages/Search.aspx?k=tap%20king

  • I'm really unhappy with mine. First problem is Lionel Ritchie isn't in my fridge to pour it, second problem is my beer, no matter who pours it, how it's poured or how slow/fast its poured, there is always at least 85% head to liquid ratio in the glass. I used my mates tap king and poured it perfectly first time. Is it possible I have a defective unit? I even watched the youtube video on how to pour!

    • sounds odd, but try a different glass. Also try using a different soap or rinsing the glass and drying it completely before pouring.

Try putting it in the feeezer for an hour before pouring, your fridge is probably not cold enough.

    • +1

as said above, your keg isnt cold enough most likely, also washing glasses in detergent unlike Matt P suggested actually reduces the head on the beer, not increases it. Wash your beer glasses only in hot water then dry out properly

    • Thank you for the suggestions. Now that you mention it I suspect it may be the temperature as the fridge isn't all that cold anyway. It is mostly stocked with home made italian sausage so I don't want it to partially freeze hence the temp is slightly above what a beer fridge should be! Stupid fridge to have beer in anyway tbh. Will try the freezer idea and see how we go :) thanks for the responses

    • Possibly how cold it is like everybody is saying…. I have to units living in the fridge outside and if I pour at the right angle its perfect. :)

    • I find that you have to put it in the fridge and leave it there. Ie no taking it out to close the fridge door while pouring. Otherwise its head city once its moved around and another beer or two before its settled down a bit

Hello…. Is it me you're looking for? I can see it in your eyes… I can see it in your smile

  • How long do these last for? My brother wanted one of these for Christmas, so this looks like a good deal so was going to buy him the dispenser and one of the beers, but figured I'd go the full hog and order 5 of the beers all up for ~$200. Just wanna make sure it'll last at least a few months!

I just pulled one of my kegs out of the fridge to check, i bought it at the beginning of the week and has an expiry of the 15th of Jan, 2014.

      • Hmm that's not very long at all then. Might have to give it a miss and just buy it closer to Christmas!

Saving about 15% compared to a carton of stubbies. Worked it out for a couple here

Edit: Carton prices from Dan Murphys

    • this is working off of the discounted rate though, right? I did the math (not my strong point admittedly) when the whole Tap King thing came out and I was pretty disappointed how expensive they worked out.

      • I love my beer probably more than the next person. Irresponsibly so.

Between the fact its more expensive, the bugger around with wastage trying to perfect the amount of head poured and the incredibly tiny range of beers currently available for it - I just can't be bothered with this fad.

    • you're forgetting that in SA there's a 10c deposit per bottle … other factors like storage & being able to share with friends, the cost of glassware, cleaning and the potential of breakage (you wouldn't believe how many glasses we get through) …

all in all, the cost is far more than the per litre $ value …

as a side note, pretty sure most bottles of beer are 330ml these days, so that's one in favour of tap-king …

i think i'll pay the extra for convenience & because i like using my bottle opening 'reef' thongs …

    • YES!

So it's 6x twin packs. Fark - 12 bottles is a lot to drink considering the expiry is around jan/feb 2014

    • +1

      we have a heathen! screams

  • Thoroughly disappointed that 4X is sold out; worst beer.

  • +2

Note, you only need to buy 6 items… (that have the Across any 6 discount), so you can buy say 2 x 2 packs & 4 bottles of $3.50 sparkling for the misses! (or any other combination!)

    • You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, this is brilliant! I couldn't bring myself to spend $200 on beer in one hit, but throw a couple of bottles of merlot in and you've got yourself a deal
