  • Also, there is a $15 shipping at staticice lowest price. Also this price is with new contract with TPG per their website. ($169) (http://shop.ozcableguy.com/detail.asp?product=D6200) +delivery without contract.

    • Does OW price match MSY?

      • Of course!

      • I tried to pricematch MSY from Officeworks recently and was told that it was on their list of stores not to price match with anymore… because "the return policies are different".

        • Pfft, u probably wne to tight ass city store.. chaddy store never ask questions. Never had any issue

        • I got the same response from chaddie just a couple of days ago trying to price match a eop kit

        • Just got price matched at nunawading store with price guarantee for $137.50

  • this will be an excellent choice once the price of USB Wireless AC adaptors comes down to an affordable level

  • is this broadcom chipset?

    • +1

      yes it is

      • Anything wrong with a broadcom chipset?

        • My adsl2+ connection isn't very good (Syn speed ~4m), heard that broadcom chipset is better for a line like me. Is it true?

Add the $3 VGA cable in there as well. Good deal

Is this still worth getting even though wireless 802.11ac is still in draft and not finalised yet?

    From what I have read this is actually 2.4ghz 300mbps (802.11n) & 5ghz 867Mbps (802.11ac). Not true 1200mbps for 802.11ac.

    Also no VOIP or 3G.

    • From what I've read AC is finalised when it comes to firmware and all the major manufacturers are onboard with finalising with firmware update. So I guess just make sure not to buy korean/chinese no names.

  • My existing modem has a telephone connection for my Internet phone (IINet). Does anyone know how one can use an Internet phone / VOIP with this modem?

can i just use this as a router when NBN is available? and what is the difference between 6200 and 6300?

    • NBN/Fiber: Yes. All modems that have a WAN port can be user for NBN.

    • +3

By the time I get the NBN internet with be delivered by potatoes

Only buy this router if you want continual dropouts on your network! This would be about the worst router Netgear has ever made. It caused me nothing but headaches. I went through 5 of them all with the same issue… My advice, don't touch it with a 20" pole. Trust me, theres a reason why they have to reduce them so much to sell them! - Finally gave up cut my losses and moved to another brand AC router. Best decision ever!!

    • Dlink AC modem/router that looks like a cylinda better?.. for $137 (price beat OW) its worth a bite.. if its a dud as this guy rekons can ways return it for full refund

      • Well actually that is the router i replaced this with. The DLink DSL2890AL AC Modem router. They are normally around the $249 mark which i think is good value to start with. I can't speak highly enough of it.. I've had none of the issues the D6300 caused me. In fact the 2890 has been rock solid since installing it about a month ago… Fantastic router in my opinion. I use an AC wifi dongle as well and it works very well. And at that price unbeatable.

      • Where are you getting it for that price? Lowest prices I can see on Staticice are 200+

    • worst router Netgear has ever made might be a bit harsh. I had a few Netgear routers back in the G days which were junk.

    • +2

Thanks for mentioning your experience with this one. I'll keep away!

    • Which router did you move to?

    • Wow - terrible reviews….

      Damn, this router looked great!

Be carefull of the reviews from Amazon. They tend to bundle all the reviews from the same brand and range together and this tends to screw there ratings. Especially having to sort through all the feedback if you just want reviews for current product you are looking at. In this case all the reviews for every model in the Netgear N range.

Same as how they bundle both the Blu-ray and DVD reviews for the same title together.

  • Is this better or asus rt-ac66u?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251329549417

asus rt-ac66u is 196.50 at the moment. I got it at 195

    • I think RT-AC66U is better as a router, while the D6200 is has modem function

  • What's the clever choice these days for an AC ADSL2+ Router?

Netgear was pretty good back in the day. Have a soft spot for Billion (from their Whirlpool repuation), have always viewed Dlink as low cost / problematic (my perception may be incorrect). Never really considered ASUS etc, is their product range getting too broad?

    • As per my comment above. IMO. go the new DLink DSL2890AL AC Modem router..

  • I am having two netgear modems, they works fine on last 3 years.
