Nokia 820 8GB Black $229 + Shipping from Kogan

70

This looks like a reasonable deal. Unlocked 8.0 MP camera, 8GB storage from Kogan. This compares well to $199 for Nokia 720 from Vodafone (see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116202 ). I'm not sure how much postage for Kogan costs though. This is a gray market import, so there's only 12 months warranty.

Update:

  • Latest chopel and urzu report their local Optus shops offering it outright for $240, however, I couldn't see
this offer online. This is probably the best since it comes with full Australian 2 year warranty.

  • Shipping from Kogan costs $25. So total shipped cost is $254.

  • I'm trumped by poldy, who could get it for $240 (including shipping) from https://www.noworries.com.au/phones/nokia-lumia-820-with-4g-… I believe
this is a gray market unit too.

  • Is it just the camera is better than 720?

      • everything on the device but battery and thickness are better than the 720.
AMOLED screen looks great compare to 720 (cause I own one for a short while too)

it has 1GB ram and faster CPU, certainly will work with 8.1 or even 9.0 in the future.

Fun to have shell change, on the bright side, you can replace battery and make the phone last longer. 720 you cant. battery life is well over 1 day.

at this price, it beats 8X. Certainly beats 720 by a mile

    • The 820 has double the RAM of the 720. the 820 also has 4G.

  • I believe this is cheaper to get 820 with free shipping:

  • I just bought one of these this morning for $240 delivered from No Worries.

I was going to get it from Kogan but his shipping was about $25.
I am replacing a smashed 820, its a great phone!
