Crocs - Men's & Women's $20 at Sydney Aquarium, Reduced from $80

110

If you don't hate these shoes it's a damn good deal.
No idea why Sydney Aquarium is selling crocs.

Edit: yep apparently some kids sizes too, including pink, red and spongebob.
Mostly 10-12 sizes in the men's range.

  • Did you see any kids sizes?

    • Yep just asked wife and indeed they do have some, added above.

"No idea why Sydney Aquarium is selling crocs"
Because crocodiles are large aquatic tetrapods and where else would you buy them :P

These things are seriously $80 RRP? Wow.

    • +2

Yeah, $80 and a bit of dignity

  • Can someone confirm what mens styles they have for sale? is it the basic design or others?

    • basic design with different colour combos - the design is the one that all the rip offs at woolies etc copy

  • Cheers, I'll give it a miss then. I'm currently wearing out the loafers style ones which are awesome and wouldn't mind buying a replacement.

Actually quite useful workwear for a surgical team, and commonly used as such in places like China where these monstrosities are seen as fashionable.

Although I don't see Dr so and so, MBBS FRACS, going "Score, cheap crocs! Better head down to the aquarium!"

Although I myself am thinking: jesus christ I could ship a large parcel of these bad boys to Shanghai and sell it on Taobao for (minimal) fun and profit!

  • How do these compare to those that Rivers occasionally has on sale for $10?

Genuine crocs are a lot more comfortable and last longer than the copies. I know this because I bought copies for years until someone decided that I should have the real thing. Much softer and more resilient. Like walking on pillows. They're still going strong almost 2 years old and being worn most days to uni or riding a bike (which used to tear my old ones up because of the metal teeth on the pedals for grip).

      • Thanks for the detailed response Greenspoon.

      • Cheers, interesting to know :)

  • Does it include the Croc Wellies ?

(Might be worth an airfare to Sydney and stock up…)

    • hehe no unfortunately. Wellies for some reason are still cool…
they do have some of the 'ballet flat' style women's ones, which if you don't look too hard actually look like nice shoes

  • Any sizes for ladies in the normal style? Or mainly men's, kids', and ballet ladies'? :)

  • Thanks. I bought the last pair today (which was further reduced to $5, probably because of the ugly brown colour).

It's been REALLY hard to buy imitation men's crocs over the past year. K-mart and Target stopped selling them and eBay has of course banned the fakes completely. There is no Rivers store near Sydney's Eastern Suburbs either. Surprisingly my first pair of genuine Crocs aren't perfect either - the black plastic disc of the heel support band digs into my foot.

    • Woolies has the fakes! Calls them gardening shoes or something.

      • Sorry haven't had time to lurk OzBargain lately.

Thanks for the tip! If I find them I'll stock up. These genuine Crocs have chewed off parts of my feet and still dig in after a lot of trimming.

      • I found the garden shoes on special at Woolworths Online for only $3 (unfortunately without a picture). Apparently I can't make an order below $30 online (I could probably do something tricky to circumvent this but we'll see).

I rang all the Woolworths stores within a reasonable distance and none of them had any in stock. I think I'm the only adult left that wears them within a 20km radius.
