Quick Info: Intel i3-4130 contains intel HD 4400. This with 1600MHz ram should produce similar gfx performance as a amd HD 7550 supposedbly (slight frames difeerence). This pointed out, for $419, this is damn cheap for a light gaming/entertainment unit (prbably get a better case and use as a htpc would be ideal.

Edit: benchmarks show that games such as metro or company of heroes perform poorly at low gfx level, hwoever FIFA 14 works at 140 fps at low O.o

    • I'd say it's primarily an office/internet build but yes, it does have the capability to do gaming or HTPC work if necessary.

      • this mainboard does not have a HDMI output, so I don't think it's suitable for HTPC purpose unless dedicated GPU is installed.

VGA/DVI + 3.5mm audio port is too hard for kids these days huh?

        • A lot of TV's dont even have VGA/DVI inputs these days, plus if people want actual HD then HDMI is generally a must…

VGA/DVI + 3.5mm audio port is too hard for kids these days huh?

yeah, 'cause for all intent and purpose, HDCP requires HDMI.

        • And I'd say that's true of gaming too, a dedicated GPU would be prefered.

And with a HTPC I'd want a more suitable case. And a bigger HDD. Or two.

For both I'd want a better PSU.

But… it has the capability to do HTPC/Gaming. If necessary.

        • Use a DVI to HDMI cable, or adapter. No audio over DVI, but you'll get 1080p, without a problem.

        • HDCP will work over DVI too.

    • Will it play Skyrim?

  • would the psu be sufficient to power dedicated mid range graphics?

    • +1

No, but even spending $50 on a Silverstone 500w you'd still be ahead.

    • I'd probably be fine running a 7790/650Ti on that PSU, I'd look at getting a different PSU if you want something faster.

    • Easily. That is why it has such powerful PSU, so its upgradable. A 7850 would make it a gaming machine on low budget. This is very good price.
      A 7850 with i7 2600 eats 250W during Metro 2033 http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7870-review-be…
And this CPU has 54 W TDP not 95 like the i7 in the test!
Nowadays its a general misbelief you need such high power PSUs, unless you plan go all out overclock or purchase already factory overclocked series like old 580GTX/the top line of GPUs. Its wasted money to get 500+ W PSUs. The actual parts of the PSU matter a lot more, than nominal Watt.

      • Best info I could find is the bundled PSU with the 344 is this:
        http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/upload/download/380/files/TM…
With 16A on the 12V rail this will not be enough to power a 650Ti.

I agree that wattage doesn't mean much, but it's amps on the 12V where it really counts, and this PSU doesn't have enough.

      • This is not a true 420W PSU. It's a very poor quality ~200W PSU, if that.

        EDIT Here we go: http://hardwareinsights.com/wp/the-2012-el-cheapo-power-supp…

I was off. It can manage about a 250W load on a modern computer. Modern computers draw the vast majority of their power from the 12V rail. This PSU explodes (literally) at 24A on that rail but survives at 20A, which means you can flirt with danger at 240W on the 12V rail. As the PSU ages, it's ability to do this amperage will decrease.

  • I like the fact that it has a decent case. Nothing worse than a supercheap noisy case with a bad PSU.

  • Does it come with Windows and Office? Would this be suitable for office work?
    thanks

    • Perfect for office work, however i dont think it comes with windows and certainly not office..

    • it doesn't come with windows or office

Would this be suitable for office work?

any PC you buy is more than suitable.

  • Sold out?

  • Would it be ok to add a blu ray drive? Doesn't need to burn

Hey REP, what's the deal with you not accepting credit cards at all, or PayPal over $700, for online sales?

I was going to buy a couple of higher-end custom systems from you, but your lack of payment options put me off.

  • Rep, any left?

  • my cheap coolpower psu does a 7950 no problem fYI

    • What model is your cheap PSU?

      • Confirmed via PM: not this PSU.

  • Can you please do another deal soon? My parents need a new computer and can't be bothered (have the time) to build it myself!!

I just love how your deals are cheaper then me building it from MSY.
