  • wow, impressed with how much the 5C is dropping in price.

    Yes, about AU$61 according to this post.

    Even if the $21 delivery gives this seller a little extra margin, one wonders how they buy them from Apple or Apple's re-sellers at under AU$600 - HK retail price is about AU$660.

    • I don't think that they are. I think they are having trouble selling the 5c and people are happy to offload them and take a hit of 100 dollars or so. Retailers are reluctant to discount the phones themselves because it might upset apple.

        Yes, you could be correct.

        Local HK cellular users are 'churned' every year or two. Good offers to get a 'new' phone to change carrier. Then they sell their new phone to a Mongkok phone store for cash, and keep their old phone.

    OP/Rep

    Is this a HK Market iPhone 5c?

    Will it be delivered directly to buyers from your Hong Kong business? Or, will you be the importer? (And then deliver to customers from your Victorian address?)

    Are purchasers of these iPhones buying from your Australian business/company or from your Hong Kong company? Who is invoicing these purchases? I am assuming that an invoice/receipt is included with delivered orders?

    How does one claim on your warranty? To where would the phone be sent for warranty assessment/repair/replacement? Who pays for the costs of return to this address and then the return to the customer? How long should the process take? Is there some maximum time?

    Also, why is your .com.au registered to/by "SIDNOM PTY LTD" which also owns about 45 other domains?

    Sorry for so many questions, but I am sure you can address them easily and quickly.

    Thanks.

        Too cryptic for me. Please explain or expand.

        Ahh… NO IT IS NOT.

        You had better read the auDA Policy on .com.au domains.

        So, no legally enforceable warranty (in Australia)?
        No protection under Australia's Consumer Rights Legislation?

        All warranty claims will be handled by Discount Point Australia.

        So the purchaser must pay to return the phone to your Australian address by some traceable/track-able method?

        The phone will be sent back to our HK supplier for assessment.

        So do you pay for this?

        Claim process varies, the process should take 2 to 3 weeks.

        Is that?:
        DiscountPointAU->DiscountPointHK->
        YourSupplier->AppleHK->YourSupplier->
        DiscountPointHK->Customer
        OR is it?:
        DiscountPointAU->DiscountPointHK->
        YourSupplier->AppleHK->YourSupplier->
        DiscountPointHK->DiscountPointAU->Customer

        So, all the above takes two to three weeks, correct?

        And who pays for the return from Hong Kong to Australia and/or to the customer?

        Does Discount Point Australia 'cover' the phone(s) for damage and/or loss after the phone(s) are returned to their AU address until the phone(s) are returned to the customer(s)?

        • Hi A3 Australia,

          Customers definitely have consumer rights as they are buying from an Australian business.

          The purchaser will pay for the return and we will reimburse the freight cost if the item is found to be faulty upon arrival or damaged in transit.

          We will cover the freight cost to our HK supplier.

          Yes it takes 2 to 3 weeks, we will send the item directly to supplier for assessment/ repair. Once fixed, item will be returned directly to the customer.

          Our supplier pays for the return freight.

          Please message us your phone no/ email or send it to [email protected] and our staff will be more than happy to explain it in more details for you.

  • Cant see your ABN on your website

      and
      "Discount Point Ltd (Company Registration Number: 1688163) registered in Hong Kong "Discount Point HK".

      These iP5c would be sold and supplied by Discount Point HK (NOT Discount Point).

      So, no legally enforceable warranty, and no Consumer Rights in Australia.

    Did I ever tell you OzBargainers how I hate 'post-and-run' reps?

    Those reps that post and then never stick around (or even come back) to respond to comments and/or to answer questions.

    EDIT
    Post-and-Run should be a valid reason for a -Neg (if there is no clear bargain in the post).
